Life-long Arsenal fan and celebrity TV presenter Piers Morgan has hailed Lucas Torreira as a ‘warrior’ after his superb performance during the North London Derby win over Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal started well at the Emirates Stadium and they took a deserved lead through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty before Tottenham turned things around with a goal from Eric Dier and a Harry Kane penalty before half-time.

However, the Gunners blew Spurs away with three second half goals as Aubameyang levelled things up with a superb strike before Alexandre Lacazette came off the bench to make it 3-2 in the 74th minute with a deflected effort.

Tottenham pushed to find an equaliser but Arsenal wrapped-up the three points as Torreira slammed home a fourth goal to secure a 4-2 victory that sees Unai Emery’s men leapfrog their north London rivals in to the top four.

The goal capped an excellent all-round performance from Torreira as the Uruguayan international bossed the midfield with an all-action performance as he continued his fine start to life at Arsenal following his move from Sampdoria in the summer.

Torreira has already become a real fan favourite and Morgan – who is a life-long Arsenal fan and celebrity journalist – took to social media to send a simple message to the midfielder after calling him a ‘warrior’.

Arsenal fans will be hoping for more of the same from Torreira on Wednesday night when they head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United but the South American will have a new midfield partner as Granit Xhaka will miss the game after collecting his fifth booking of the season this afternoon.
