Tottenham will be desperate to put their defeat to Arsenal behind them and get back to winning ways when they take on Southampton at Wembley on Wednesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a full team news and injury update including the latest on Kieran Trippier, Mousa Dembele, Davinson Sanchez, Erik Lamela, Victor Wanyama and Jan Vertonghen.

Let’s start with the positive news and Tottenham have confirmed Trippier is fit and available for selection tomorrow night after recovering from a groin injury that’s hampered him since the win over Crystal Palace a month ago. The England international should replace Serge Aurier at right-back as he struggled against Arsenal at the weekend.

However, Dembele is still working his way back to full fitness after suffering ankle ligament damage last month and the Belgian international midfielder isn’t expected to return to training for a ‘few weeks’ yet.

Lamela missed the North London Derby with a thigh injury and the South American attacker will remain on the sidelines against Southampton while Sanchez is also still out with an on-going hamstring issue.

Wanyama has struggled to overcome a niggling knee injury in recent months and the midfielder is continuing his treatment on the sidelines while Vertonghen won’t be available tomorrow as he’ll serve a one-match suspension following his sending off against Arsenal.

Tottenham head in to the midweek action sitting fifth in the Premier League table following their defeat at the Emirates so Pochettino will be desperate to climb back in to the top four with a win over Southampton at Wembley.
