Tottenham have confirmed a double injury boost but five other players will miss Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton.

Tottenham will look to tighten their grip on third place with a win when they take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, the club have provided a team news and injury update on TottenhamHotspur.com with the latest on the fitness of Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama.

Let’s start with the positive news and Tottenham have confirmed that Sanchez is fit and available for selection after recovering from a hamstring injury that’s kept him on the sidelines since the Champions League clash with PSV back in November.

In a double boost for Mauricio Pochettino, Foyth is also pushing for a recall after recovering from his own hamstring complaint. The South American youngster was an unused substitute against Arsenal on Wednesday night but could be back in the starting eleven this weekend.

Tottenham suffered no fresh injury concerns following their Carabao Cup win at the Emirates Stadium but they’ll have to continue to make-do without Aurier as the full-back is still nursing a groin injury.

Dier has been discharged from hospital and is due to commence his rehabilitation work next week after having his appendix removed but the midfielder won’t be available until after the New Year.

Tottenham will also be without Vertonghen until January as the centre-back has only just started to train outdoors as he bids to recover from a thigh injury that he sustained earlier this month.

Dembele is now in the final stages of his recovery from an ankle injury and although the Everton game should come too soon, the Belgian international will be hoping to return over the festive period.

It means Pochettino will be without five players for the trip to Everton this weekend as Tottenham look to build on last Saturday’s win over Burnley that has left them two points above Chelsea in third place in the Premier League table.

The Spurs boss is likely to rotate his side following an intense North London Derby so Harry Kane should be recalled after coming off the bench against Arsenal while Erik Lamela will also be pushing for a recall in attack.
