Not the first time referees have cost us the game!

No matter what people say, I will not accept that Phil Dowd did not cost us the game on Saturday. The two phantom penalties and not sending Kevin Nolan off for the same stunt that got Diaby the red card shows very clearly that Phil Dowd is not a professional. I would say Mr Dowd has it in him to see any team but Arsenal win.

football news

It is not the first time he has cost us points. The last time we gave up a 2 or more goal lead (it was against Spurs at the Emirates), guess who was in charge. None other than Tubby Dowd himself. The goal that lead to Spurs winner that day was a freekick which was given only because he wanted to give Spurs a chance of victory. If they have not scored I am sure he would have given them a penalty, like he did on Saturday.

Another one of his many tricks to see Arsenal lose points is to prolong the match, like when he decided to let game go on until Sunderland scored to grab a point at the stadium of light. Clearly time was over but Tubby chose not to blow the whistle just because we were leading.

There are a couple of excellent referees in the Premiership but with guys like Mason and Dowd, you would think that it could be better to get neutral referees from the continent so that we can actually get some fair play going on. It is difficult to see how the “Respect the Referee” campaign can be successful when the referee’s do not respect the game enough to do a good and professional job.

As i said earlier in my previous posting, this guy does not deserve to be a ref even in league 2. I wonder what the FA is doing allowing a warped mind like him to be in charge of games in the premiership. It is a shame!!!!

This was obvious the ref [Dowd] gave away our points. Even if Arsenal had scored the 5th he would’ve cancelled it as an offside goal period.

We did score a perfectly good 5th. And it was ruled out in the 93rd minute!

agree 100%-once i knew dowd had got the game feared the worst-waiting for”untold arsenal”who do a ref watch to bring up his stats-i’m sure it would make for v.interesting reading-another arsenal hater along with mike dean, howard webb.lee mason & one or two others at least.why the club take this on the chin without an ounce of outrage is beyond me-ferguson & manure would be calling for his head & a public enquiry!

you guys make me die on these sites. it is not the refs fault, how many times do we get penalties when they are not penalties at all, you all have a blinkered vision, we lost the game because,
    1) diaby is an idiot
    2) wenger is naive on tactics
    3) we couldnt park the bus
    4) wenger should have bought a defender.

get in the real world you lot

this ref is a cunt and a big shame to the premier league he could not protect the players and he let this thug called burton get away with nasty fouls i totally understand his frustration the guy has been on the sidelines for long due to stupid and reckless challenges.BUT GOONERS WE SHOULD KEEP THE FAITH

My research showed this ref-phil dowd has a history of bad calls.Full stop. But is there no way club can protest when such refs are assigned to Arsenal?

simon ur either chelsea or utd u aint a gooner …. piss off we don’t want u as a gooner either. if that twat phil dawd given (2)penalties in one game in favour of arsenal i would have said he robbed the other team blind. the free kick that led up to the equalizer was a joke from the ref once again. dont mind anyone beating arsenal as long as they do it fairly and not cheating. so fuck mason, phil dawd and simon.

English referees r very lucky to officiate in a country that is lenient on their many glaring errors which sometimes i feel its intentional.Over here in Colombia, they are shot.i think if one or two referees r shot on the foot for bad officiating, they’ll all learn their lessons.
