Alvaro Morata scored both goals as Chelsea booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Maurizio Sarri made plenty of changes to his starting eleven so it took some time for the disjointed side to get going but they were eventually gifted the perfect chance to break the deadlock in the 30th minute when Ruben Loftus-Cheek was fouled in the area. However, Cesc Fabregas saw the resulting spot kick saved by Luke Steele so they went in to the break all square at 0-0.

Chelsea dominated after half time and opened the scoring in the 49th minute after Morata found the bottom corner from the centre of the box after being found by a lovely Callum Hudson-Odoi cross.

The youngster was the creator of Chelsea’s second goal too as Hudson-Odoi found Morata with another pin-point cross and the Spaniard headed home to make it 2-0 in the 59th minute.

The Blues eased to victory to book their place in the hat for the fourth round draw but it came at a cost as Morata, Loftus-Cheek and Fabregas all left the field with injuries.
