Midfielder wants to ‘discuss’ Liverpool’s offer after Klopp tables £27m bid

Abdulkadir Omur wants Trabzonspor to ‘discuss’ Liverpool’s offer after Jurgen Klopp launched a £27m bid to sign the talented midfielder this month

The January transfer window is open and managers are working hard on strengthening their squads and identifying targets for the summer so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest rumours. Today, Abdulkadir Omur speaks out on Liverpool’s interest…..

Abdulkadir Omur wants Trabzonspor to ‘discuss’ Liverpool’s offer after Jurgen Klopp launched a £27m bid to sign the talented midfielder this month, according to the Daily Star.

Omur has been with Trabzonspor his entire career having progressed through their youth ranks and he’s developed in to one of the best young players in Turkish football since breaking in to the first team in 2016.

The central midfielder is expected to become a full Turkish international soon after being called up to the senior squad last year having represented his country at U21 level and his potential has caught the eye of Liverpool.

The 19-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield in recent months and the Mirror reported over the weekend that Klopp was closing in on a £27m deal after identifying the midfielder as a key January transfer target.

The Daily Star cite reports from Turkey as saying Liverpool have submitted a £27m offer for Omur and the midfielder has now seemingly confirmed an approach from the Merseyside giants.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday evening, Omur praised Liverpool as a ‘great club’ and said Trabzonspor need to ‘discuss’ their offer, while the youngster said he’s ready to hold transfer talks if his club give him the go-ahead.

The Daily Star carry quotes from Turkish Football that claim Omur said:

“Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world. These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss,”

“If the club give the go ahead talks can be held. The clubs interests take precedence. I’ll do whatever is in the clubs best interests.”

We’ll have to wait and see how Trabzonspor respond to Liverpool’s supposed offer but Omur would be an exciting addition to their squad if the Reds were able to get a deal agreed for his signature.

Klopp has a wealth of midfield options right now but with Adam Lallana being linked with a move away from Anfield and James Milner coming towards the end of his career, Omur could be viewed as a long-term replacement.
