Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed a major double injury boost ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Leicester City this weekend.

Manchester United will look to maintain the pressure on the top four with a win over Leicester City at the King Power on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s provided a full team news update including the latest on Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.

The United boss was pleased to confirm a huge boost with the news that Pogba is expected to be fit and available for selection this weekend despite picking up a knock in midweek.

The French international was seen limping after United’s 2-2 draw with Burnley on Wednesday night sparking fears he’d suffered an injury but Solskjaer says the issue is nothing to worry about.

Anthony Martial was forced to miss the dramatic comeback against Burnley at Old Trafford after suffering a knock in training before the game. The attacker will be assessed at training today but the Man Utd coach is confident Martial will be available for selection on Sunday.

Solskjaer told ManUtd.com:

“We’ve not had a proper session since the game, so hopefully both of them can get through that. I don’t think there’s anything with Paul. Anthony has done some rehab work, so he will try a session today, so I would imagine he would be available to be involved. He seemed happy yesterday.”

Chris Smalling returned to the United squad in midweek after recovering from a foot injury so he’ll be available for selection against Leicester meaning Marcos Rojo is the only absentee as he continues to nurse a niggling shin problem.

Marouane Fellaini is also sidelined by a calf strain but the midfielder is on the verge of a move to China so he wouldn’t be considered for selection even if fit.

United head to the King Power sitting sixth in the Premier League table – just two points off Arsenal and Chelsea – so they’ll be looking to maintain the pressure with a win over Leicester.
