Alexandre Lacazette was on target as Arsenal beat Huddersfield Town 2-1 to close the gap on Manchester United to just one point.

Arsenal had the better of the opening exchanges and broke the deadlock in the 16th minute when Alex Iwobi volleyed home via a deflection at the far post after being found by a Sead Kolasinac cross – although the goalkeeper should probably have done better.

We continued to dominate and eventually doubled our lead shortly before half time as Alexandre Lacazette tapped home at the far post after being found by Ainsley Maitland-Niles following a nice team move.

Arsenal had the better of the chances early in the second half with Iwobi the closest to extending our advantage but we once again threw away a clean sheet as we gifted Huddersfield a late consolation. Some woeful defending led to Kolasinac bundling the ball in to his own net to make it 2-1.

Thankfully we held on to secure the win which moves us level on points with Chelsea and to within just one point off fourth-placed Manchester United – who beat Fulham 3-0 earlier today.
