Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was back in full training today as the Arsenal squad prepared for Thursday evening’s Europa League trip to BATE Borisov.
Aubameyang missed the 2-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at the weekend due to illness but the 29-year-old was given the all-clear to resume full training with the rest of the squad at London Colney today.
The Gabon international was rested for much of the group stages of the Europa League but now we’re in the knockout stages, Unai Emery is expected to field a stronger line-up, so Aubameyang could feature in Belarus tomorrow.
Sokratis was also back in full training today after making a swift recovery from an ankle injury that he picked up against Manchester United last month but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be risked against BATE or given more time to return to full fitness.
Granit Xhaka also took part in full training this morning after overcoming a minor groin injury while Mesut Ozil was out on the pitches at London Colney after recovering from illness which kept him out of Arsenal’s win over Huddersfield.
However, there was no sign of Aaron Ramsey in training today meaning the Welsh midfielder is set to miss the BATE game with a knee injury which kept him out of action at the weekend.
The squad will fly out to Belarus this afternoon ahead of tomorrow evening’s Europa League last-16 first leg against BATE and Emery is expected to take a strong group of players with him as Arsenal don’t have a game this weekend.
