Liverpool will be looking to close the gap on Manchester City at the top of the table with a win over Burnley at Anfield this afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp has named a strong side for the game and has resisted the temptation to rest any of his key men ahead of next weeks Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. The one big surprise is that Adam Lallana gets a recall as he lines-up in midfield alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho with Jordan Henderson dropping to the bench.

James Milner fails a late fitness test so he isn’t named in the squad but Roberto Firmino returns to start up front alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane with Divock Origi making way after starting against Everton last weekend.

Dejan Lovren returns to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury but he’s named on the bench with Joel Matip once again starting alongside Virgil van Dijk in the middle of the back four. Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri must make-do with places among the subs.

Here are the confirmed line-ups:

Liverpool

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Mignolet, Lovren, Henderson, Keita, Shaqiri, Origi, Sturridge

Burnley

Heaton, Taylor, Mee, Tarkowski, Bardsley, Westwood, Cork, McNeil, Hendrick, Barnes, Wood

Subs: Lowton, Gudmundsson, Brady, Gibson, Crouch, Hart, Vydra
