Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has sent a message to Unai Emery and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.

The Gunners started strongly and opened the scoring early on when Granit Xhaka fired home a swerving strike from 25-yards that bamboozled United goalkeeper David De Gea to make it 1-0 in the 12th minute.

Man Utd grew into the game and had chances to level things up with Bernd Leno making some fine saves to keep the hosts ahead and Arsenal were then given a golden opportunity to double their lead midway through the second half.

Fred was adjudged to have fouled Alexandre Lacazette in the area and fresh from missing a vital late penalty against Tottenham last weekend, Aubameyang kept his cool from the spot to seal a 2-0 win for Arsenal.

The victory sees the north Londoners climb into the top four and go two points clear of United while Tottenham are now just one point ahead in third so the race for the top four is going to be exciting during the run-in.

Morgan was quick to take to social media after the game to send a message to Emery congratulating the Arsenal boss for revolutionizing the club having replaced Arsene Wenger last summer. The celebrity TV presenter also said he is delighted with how Arsenal are progressing under Emery following a ‘brilliant performance’ against Man Utd today.

Morgan – who’s a season ticket holder at the Emirates – also send a message to Aubameyang saying the striker was ‘ice cool’ for putting away his penalty just a week after missing from the spot against Spurs at Wembley.

It was certainly a huge win for Arsenal and Emery must be doing something right if he’s put a smile on Piers Morgan’s face!
