Manchester United have been handed a major injury boost as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ruled just three players out of Saturday’s clash with Watford.

United have been sweating over the fitness of several players over the past two weeks with as many as 10 men considered doubtful for the visit of Watford to Old Trafford tomorrow afternoon.

Nemanja Matic was forced to pull out of the Serbia squad due to a muscle issue while Anthony Martial also withdrew from the French squad after aggravating an on-going knee injury.

Eric Bailly picked up a head injury while away with the Ivory Coast last week and Marcus Rashford missed England’s Euro 2020 qualifiers with the Czech Republic and Montenegro due to an ankle problem.

Romelu Lukaku was expected to miss Man Utd’s clash with Watford tomorrow due to a foot injury that’s kept him out in recent weeks while Luke Shaw pulled out of the England squad with a knock.

With Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia and Mason Greenwood all struggling for fitness and Alexis Sanchez still working his way back from a knee injury, Man Utd had plenty of concerns ahead of this weekend’s game.

However, Solskjaer has now provided a positive update as the newly-installed permanent Man Utd manager has confirmed that just Sanchez, Darmian and Valencia have been ruled out of the Watford clash.

The Norwegian coach went on to say he needs to check on ‘one or two’ others but didn’t divulge any specific names and he hasn’t ruled them out of action this weekend so it looks like United will have a strong squad available tomorrow.

Solskjaer told ManUtd.com:

“We’ve had a very good training week. Some have been away and have come back okay.

”Alexis has just come back and there is only him who is out, along with Matteo and Antonio. Those three are out.

“We’ll have to check on one or two of the others.”

Man Utd head into the weekend action sitting fifth in the Premier League table – just two points behind Arsenal – so they’ll look to climb into the top four with victory over Watford on Saturday.
