Double boost as Klopp makes 1 key change | Expected Liverpool line-up vs Tottenham

Liverpool will be looking to cement their position at the top of the Premier League table with a win over Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.  Here is the team we think Jurgen Klopp will select:

Goalkeeper: I don’t think there is much debate over who will start in goal for Liverpool as Alisson Becker is certain to keep his place ahead of Simon Mignolet.

Defence: Liverpool will assess Trent Alexander-Arnold tomorrow but the full-back is expected to be passed fit. The youngster withdrew from the England squad last week due to a niggling back injury but is in full training and should keep his place at right-back.

Dejan Lovren is pushing for a recall but I think Klopp will stick with Joel Matip alongside Virgil van Dijk as they’ve developed a solid partnership in recent weeks while Andrew Robertson will obviously keep his place at left-back ahead of Alberto Moreno.

Joe Gomez is back in full training but he’s unlikely to be considered as being available for selection just yet having spent 15 weeks on the sidelines recovering from a fractured leg.

Midfield: Naby Keita is expected to recover from a knock that he picked up during the international break while Jordan Henderson is also set to be in the squad after shaking off an ankle problem.

However, I think Klopp may opt for James Milner in the middle of the park with the experienced midfielder starting alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho.

Adam Lallana will be the man to make way after starting against Fulham before the international break. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be slowly eased back into first team action after suffering a minor set-back in his recovery from a serious knee injury so he won’t be involved this weekend.

Attack: Liverpool desperately need a win over Tottenham to at least maintain their two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table so Klopp won’t take any chances with his line-up.

Therefore, I expect we’ll see Roberto Firmino once again leading the line up front with Mohamed Salah offering support in attack. Sadio Mane will complete what has become a familiar front three and the Senegalese international will be looking to continue his sensational recent form in front of goal.

Xherdan Shaqiri will be assessed after pulling out of the Switzerland squad with a pelvic injury but he’s trained today and should take his place on the bench alongside the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi.

Here is how I think Liverpool will line up:
