By on April 13, 2019

Lucas Moura scored a hat-trick as Tottenham thrashed Huddersfield 4-0 at the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon to move up to third in the Premier League table.

Spurs started well and opened the scoring midway through the first half when Victor Wanyama broke into the box before rounding the Huddersfield goalkeeper to tap home for 1-0 in the 24th minute.

The hosts doubled their advantage just two minutes later as Moura got his first of the match with the South American lashing home from a tight angle to make it 2-0 after being teed-up by Moussa Sissoko.

Huddersfield improved after the break as they pushed to get a goal which would get them back in the game but Tottenham sealed the three points as Moura fired home in the 87th minute after good work from Christian Eriksen.

The Brazilian attacker then sealed his hat-trick in injury time and it was a superb goal as he fired into the far top corner after being set-up by Heung-min Son to wrap-up an impressive 4-0 victory.

The win sees Tottenham leapfrog Chelsea into third place and extend their advantage over fifth placed Arsenal to four points ahead of their rivals’ matches against Liverpool and Watford.
