Arsenal vs Barca: Preview, Injury News & Predicted Line-up
Arsenal take on FC Barcelona mid-week in the champions League. Our opponents need no introduction and I am not going to bother writing about them.
Sagna will not take part in the clash against Barça as he is suspended. Samir Nasri may play, although I wish he did not. Personally it’s ok if we go out of the champions league, with Sami fit rather than progress with Sami injured. Don’t say I am not a true Gooner. It’s just rational thinking! Tomas Rosicky most probably will not take part on Wednesday. Diaby has picked up another setback and will also not face Barca.
The rest of the list remains the same.
Probable Line-up :
Subs : Almunia, Gibbs, Squillaci, Denilson,( Rosicky/Nasri*), Nikko, Chamakh.
*most likely player to be on the bench.
Final thoughts :
It’s simple. A tempo which is fast. A tempo in which we can counterattack very quickly. Arshavin and Theo should not comeback for corners. They are fast players who can attack fast. Gijon drew with Barca on Saturday, and their tactic was to deploy fast counter-attacks because Barca usually play very wide at the back i.e. they play with 3 defenders. If we catch them with Milito facing Arshavin or Pique facing Theo we know who will win.
If you want a better illustration, you can go to Desi gunners Blog where the guy shows how much pressing we have to endure for Barcelona via the second goal against Wolves. Its a brilliant article!
Come on Arsenal, give us a match that will worth remembering (For us Gooners !)
