Man Utd set to table formal offer for £50m star as Solskjaer kicks-off summer spree

Manchester United are ready to table an opening £25m bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Ole Gunar Solskjaer looks to kick-start his summer transfer plans

Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are ready to make their move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka….

Manchester United are ready to table an opening £25m bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to kick-start his summer transfer plans, according to the Evening Standard.

The United boss knows he needs to overhaul his squad if they want to be competing for major honours again after they finished sixth in the Premier League this season and the Manchester giants have been linked with a whole host of names in recent days.

Solskjaer is expected to strengthen throughout his team but a new right-back is desperately needed as Antonio Valencia will leave when his contract expires next month and Ashley Young turns 34 in July so a long-term replacement is on the agenda.

The Evening Standard claim that Man Utd have made Wan-Bissaka their top target at right-back after watching him develop into one of the most exciting young full-backs in the Premier League this season.

The 21-year-old established himself as a key player under Roy Hodgson at Selhurt Park and is tipped to become a full England international after already representing his country at Under-21 level.

It looks like Man Utd are now ready to test Palace’s resolve as the Evening Standard says the Red Devils will table an opening bid worth £25m but they know they’ll have to pay a lot more to get a deal agreed.

Palace are desperate to keep hold on Wan-Bissaka so the report suggest they will reject United’s opening offer and hold out for at least £50m as they hope a rival approach from Man City will spark a bidding war.

United and City obviously have the financial power to meet Palace’s asking price so it looks like two of Europe’s most powerful clubs are ready to do-battle over Wan-Bissaka’s signature over the coming weeks.

Solskjaer is keen to get his transfer business done early with the newspaper suggesting the United boss wants up to five signings wrapped-up by the start of July when pre-season training begins with Swansea winger Daniel James expected to arrive shortly.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Wan-Bissaka follows James in making a move to Old Trafford but the young right-back would be a superb signing for Man Utd if they could get a deal agreed with Palace this summer.
