Tottenham are leading Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign £35m-rated PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn this summer, according to reports via the Sun.

Bergwijn is a product of the Ajax youth system but he joined PSV in 2011 and has gone on to emerge as one of the most exciting young talents in Dutch football since breaking into the first team set-up three years ago.

The 21-year-old winger has just come off the back of a superb campaign that saw him provide 14 goals and 12 assists in 33 games as PSV narrowly missed out on the Eredivisie title to rivals Ajax.

Bergwijn is now being tipped to leave for one of the bigger leagues and his impressive form has alerted clubs here in England with the Sun claiming that Tottenham, Liverpool and Man Utd have all expressed their interest.

Jurgen Klopp has one of the best attacks in world football at his disposal but the Liverpool boss knows he needs more depth behind the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane next season and Bergwijn is seemingly a target.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer after Man Utd finished sixth in the league and the Sun says United scouts have been keeping an eye on Bergwijn this year amid speculation surrounding the future of Alexis Sanchez.

However, the Sun are citing a report from Sky Sports that claims Tottenham are leading the race to sign Bergwijn after Mauricio Pochettino was left impressed by the attacker following their Champions League games this season.

Pochettino is being tipped to strengthen his squad this summer after leading Tottenham to the Champions League final and Bergwijn would provide competition for the likes of Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela if he made a move to north London.
