The Liverpool players have been celebrating wildly after beating Tottenham 2-0 in the Champions League final in Madrid on Saturday night.

It was a flying start as Liverpool were awarded a penalty after just 30 seconds when Sadio Mane’s cross struck Moussa Sissoko’s arm in the box. Mohamed Salah slammed home the resulting spot kick to make it 1-0 to the Reds.

Tottenham responded well and enjoyed large amounts of possession but they struggled to create any clear cut chances. Lucas Moura and Christian Eriksen had two decent efforts in the second half as Spurs pushed for an equaliser but they couldn’t find a way past Alisson Becker in the Liverpool goal.

Spurs were made to pay for not making the most of their possession as Liverpool wrapped up the win when Divock Origi came off the bench to fire home a lovely left footed effort from the edge of the area in the 87th minute.

There was to be no late comeback from Tottenham as Liverpool held on to secure a 2-0 victory and win the Champions League for the sixth time in their history.

The players celebrated on the pitch in front of the fans with Jurgen Klopp right in the thick of the action as the squad gave their boss some well deserved bumps!
