“The whole world knows” – Player speaks out as Arsenal look to wrap-up £26m deal

Yannick Carrasco has confirmed he wants to return to Europe as Arsenal look to seal a deal with Dalian Yifang to sign the £26m-rated winger

Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Arsenal’s pursuit of Yannick Carrasco…

Yannick Carrasco has confirmed he wants to return to Europe as Arsenal look to seal a deal with Dalian Yifang to sign the £26m-rated winger, according to the Mirror.

Unai Emery is working to revamp his ageing squad this summer after Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League and were beaten by Chelsea in the Europa League final last season and the boss desperately needs to add some width to his ranks.

Carrasco has emerged as a target once again after we were strongly linked with the Belgian international during the January transfer window before eventually opting to sign Denis Suarez in what turned out to be a disastrous loan deal.

Widespread reports suggest Arsenal are in talks to sign Carrasco this summer with the Mirror claiming Dalian Yifang are ready to do a deal at £26m but we’re pushing for a season-long loan with an option to make the move permanent in 12 months time.

That could prove to be a stumbling block and the newspaper says Bayern Munich are also sniffing around Carrasco after struggling to agree terms with Manchester City over a deal to sign Leroy Sane.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira says Arsenal have already agree personal terms with Carrasco and are working hard trying to close-out a deal, and the winger has now spoken out amid the speculation.

The 25-year-old says ‘the whole world knows’ of his desire to move back to Europe following an 18-month spell in China but he claims any potential move to Arsenal will depend on the Dalian Yifang president agreeing to his departure.

Carrasco is quoted by the Mirror as saying:

“The whole world knows that I want to return to Europe. Now, it depends on the president and I hope he finds a solution.”

[Asked about Arsenal he replied] “I can’t speak about the club. Now I am not the one who chooses, but my president. He decides if he lets me go or not, but I hope I can come back.”

So Carrasco is clearly desperate to return to Europe this summer with Arsenal seemingly pushing to bring him to the Emirates and I think he’d turn out to be a shrewd signing if we could get a deal over the line.

The Belgian attacker is comfortable playing on either wing and he’s provided 57 goals and 52 assists in 263 career games to date so he’d bring some much-needed creativity to the Arsenal team.
