Arsenal are set to launch a bid to sign highly-rated Flamengo wonderkid Reinier Jesus Carvalho as Unai Emery continues to revamp his squad this summer, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
Emery knows he needs to improve his ageing squad after Arsenal imploded during the closing weeks of last season to finish fifth in the Premier League and crash 4-1 to Chelsea in the Europa League final.
We desperately need to overhaul our defence but Emery is also looking to inject some creativity to the squad with Aaron Ramsey off to Juventus while the long-term future’s of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are also in doubt.
Arsenal fans are hoping to see some top class players arrive over the coming weeks to immediately improve the first team but it appears Emery is also planning ahead for the future as the Spaniard is reportedly eyeing a South American teenager.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal are showing a keen interest in bringing Reinier Jesus Carvalho to England and are set to launch a formal bid to sign the much sought-after Flamengo youngster.

The Italian publication says Carvalho has a release clause worth £60m written into his contract but it’s highly unlikely Arsenal will pay that much as Emery is working on a tight budget this summer having missed out on Champions League qualification.
Carvalho has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in world football and he’s tipped to have a huge future ahead of him having already captained the Brazilian team at U17 level.
The 17-year-old is a central attacking midfielder who can also play out on the wings but it will be interesting to see where Emery sees him playing in his system if he does move to Arsenal this summer.
