Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd have made an offer for Youri Tielemans….
Manchester United have launched a £35.5m bid to sign Youri Tielemans as the midfielder looks to secure a permanent move to the Premier League from Monaco, according to Belgian outlet DH.be.
Tielemans was a product of the Anderlecht youth system and made 139 appearances for their first team before joining Monaco two years ago but he struggled to settle in France and was sent out on loan to Leicester City during the second half of last season.
The 22-year-old was an immediate success here in England as he put in a string of superb performances in the middle of the park and contributed 3 goals and 5 assists in his 13 games to help Leicester finish ninth in the Premier League table.
The Belgian international is now expected to leave Monaco on a permanent basis and Manchester United are one of a number of Premier League clubs who’ve been linked with the midfielder in the media recently.
It appears the Red Devils have now formalised their interest as Belgian outlet DH.be claims Man Utd have tabled an offer worth £35.5m [€40m] for Tielemans which is expected to be enough to satisfy Monaco.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer after United finished sixth last season and the Norwegian coach is in the market for midfield reinforcements as Ander Herrera has left the club after running down his contract.
Paul Pogba is also being strongly linked with a move after going public with his desire to seek a new challenge this summer and it appears United have identified Tielemans as a potential replacement.
DH.be says Leicester have also made a £35.5m offer for the player as Brendan Rodgers is desperate to sign Tielemans on a permanent basis following his hugely successful loan spell last season.

However, it would be difficult for the Belgian star to turn down a club like Manchester United when they come calling so Solskjaer should be confident of winning the race for Tielemans’ signature if these reports of a formal bid prove accurate.
