Man City the early favourites to retain Premier League title

The summer is in full swing with managers rying to strengthen their squads as the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham try to overhaul Manchester City.

Premier-League-Trophy

The summer is in full swing with managers working hard trying to strengthen their squads as the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham try to overhaul Pep Guardiola’s outstanding Manchester City side.

After running away with the title in 2018, City found themselves in a proper title race last season as Liverpool pushed them all the way until the final day of the 2018/19 campaign. However, despite the best efforts of Jurgen Klopp’s side – who only lost 1 game all season and racked up 97 points – City managed to hold on to secure back-to-back Premier League titles by a single point.

Understandably, City are most bookmakers favourites to win the title again this coming season with punters getting best odds of 4/6 on Guardiola making it a hat-trick of Premier League wins. With such slim odds, people will need to use their besten casino bonus when placing the bet as there is very little value in putting your hard-earned money on City this year. At least by using a bonus it will be a free bet!

After coming so agonisingly close last season, Liverpool are the 9/4 second favourites with the bookmakers to win the title in 2019/20. Many feel this will finally be Liverpool’s year to end their long wait for a Premier League trophy. They will no doubt put their all into the league having won the Champions League last season and you’d expect City to prioritise Europe after dominating domestically over the past two years.

That switch in focus could be the deciding factor in this season’s Premier League title race as I really think Jurgen Klopp will go all-out to win the league while City have to make their mark in the Champions League after coming up short in recent times.

For those who think there could be a shock this season, Tottenham are best priced at 16/1 to win their first league title in over 50 years. Mauricio Pochettino’s men fell away last year but they’re spending money this summer and should be confident of putting a real challenge together next season as they have a talented group of players at White Hart Lane.

Chelsea are perhaps surprisingly priced as fourth-favourites for the title at 25/1. The inexperienced Frank Lampard has replaced Maurizio Sarri in the Stamford Bridge hot seat this summer and he’s unable to strengthen his squad due to a FIFA imposed transfer ban so it would be a shock if Chelsea were to challenge the likes of City and Liverpool this year.

Man Utd can be backed at 33/1 to win the title this season but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main focus will be breaking back into the top four after finishing sixth last season. The same can be said of Arsenal as the 40/1 shots are highly unlikely to be thinking about the title this year and most Gunners would bite your hand off for a top four finish.
