Arsenal are closing-in on the signing of Everton Soares after agreeing a deal worth £36m with Gremio for the Brazilian attacker, according to Fox Sports via The Sun.

Unai Emery has confirmed he’s working hard to bring in up to four new signings before the start of the new season after enduring a frustrating first campaign in charge at the Emirates that saw Arsenal miss out on Champions League qualification.

The boss is reportedly looking to bring in a left-back, centre-back, central midfielder and a winger this summer to help address key areas that need strengthening in our unbalanced squad.

Everton has emerged as a target with Brazilian radio station Radio Grenal reporting recently that Arsenal chiefs were to fly out to South America to try and thrash out a deal while club doctors were also expected to oversee medical examinations this week.

The Sun are now citing a report from Fox Sports that claims Arsenal have agreed terms over a deal that will see us pay £25m up front with a further £11m coming in add-ons meaning the transfer will be worth a total of £36m.

The newspaper says Arsenal’s new technical director, Edu, has met with Everton’s agent Gilmar Veloz to help seal the deal and it looks like the South American winger is now primed for a move to north London.

The 23-year-old confirmed recently that he had an offer on the table from an unnamed club and it appears the mystery suitor may have been Arsenal, if these latest reports are accurate.

Everton is one of the most highly-rated attacker in Brazilian football and he recently played a key role in helping Brazil win the Copa America so he’d be an exciting signing if Arsenal manage to get this proposed deal over the line.

We desperately need to add some pace and width to our squad and having failed with moves for Wilfried Zaha and Ryan Fraser, it appears Emery has turned his attention to Everton and he could become our second signing of the summer.
