Arsenal have provided a full team news and injury update on Arsenal.com ahead of Sunday’s huge North London Derby against Tottenham.

The Gunners have confirmed a huge double injury boost with the news that Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are ahead of schedule and expected to resume full first team training next month.

Bellerin has been on the sidelines since rupturing his knee ligaments during Arsenal’s win over Chelsea back in January and the Spaniard wasn’t pencilled-in to make his return until some point in October.

However, the right-back has been stepping-up his rehabilitation at London Colney in recent weeks and it appears he’s made good progress as Arsenal now say Bellerin is set to return to full training in September.

Tierney arrived at Arsenal from Celtic on deadline day carrying a groin injury and the Scottish international was initially not expected back until October but the left-back is also now pushing to return next month which will be a huge double boost to Unai Emery.

Rob Holding is also edging closer to making his first team comeback after getting 90 minutes under his belt for the Arsenal U23s last Friday night but the centre-back is highly unlikely to be considered for selection against Tottenham.

Emile Smith Rowe also took part in the U23s game with Everton and he followed that up with a 90 minute run-out for the U21s on Tuesday night so the young midfielder is on the verge of being available for the first team having recovered from a groin injury.

The final update regarded Dinos Mavropanos and Arsenal have confirmed the defender is now hoping to resume full training in September as he looks to overcome a niggling groin problem.

The update on Arsenal.com read:

Rob Holding
Left knee. Continuing with on-field rehabilitation and successfully completed 90 for the U-23s against Everton on Friday.

Emile Smith Rowe
Groin. Successfully completed 80 minutes for the U-23s against Everton on Friday and 90 minutes for the U-21s against Northampton Town on Tuesday night.

Hector Bellerin
Left knee. Continuing with on-field rehabilitation. Progressing well and aiming to participate in full training in September.

Kieran Tierney
Groin. Continues to receive treatment and further assessments. Progressing well and aiming to participate in full training in September.

Dinos Mavropanos
Groin. Continues to receive treatment and further assessments. Progressing well and aiming to participate in full training in September.

It will be a huge boost for Arsenal when Bellerin and Tierney are available again as they will be Emery’s first choice full-backs but the duo will obviously not be ready to face Tottenham on Sunday so Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac will vie for starting spots.

The Gunners head into the game off the back of a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool while Spurs lost to Newcastle last time out so both clubs will be desperate to get back to winning ways in the North London Derby.
