Arsenal will look to build on the dramatic win over Aston Villa when we take on Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Ahead of the game, the club have issued a team news and injury update and confirmed that Ainsley Maitland-Niles will miss the game tomorrow as he’ll serve a one-game suspension following his sending off against Villa for two bookable offences on Sunday.

Arsenal will also be without Alexandre Lacazette once again as the Frenchman remains on the sidelines with an ankle injury that’s expected to keep him out of action until some point in October.

Hector Bellerin stepped-up his recovery from a serious knee ligament injury with a run out for the U23s on Friday night having recently returned to full training. However, the right-back isn’t expected to feature against Forest as he’ll be given more time to work on his match fitness before he’ll be considered for selection by Emery.

Kieran Tierney has also been back in full training recently after overcoming a groin injury that has hampered him for several months. The Scottish international also played 62 minutes for the Arsenal U23s on Friday but like Bellerin, Tierney is expected to be given more time to build-up his fitness before he’ll be ready to make his first team debut.

Dinos Mavropanos completed 90 minutes for the U23s against Wolves after recovering from a groin injury so he’s close to being available again but it remains to be seen whether Emery will risk him against Forest tomorrow.

One man who is expected to make his long-awaited return to the first team is Rob Holding as Arsenal have confirmed the centre-back is now available for selection after making a full recovery from a knee ligament injury.

An update on Arsenal.com said:

Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Suspended for Tuesday night’s match against Nottingham Forest, after receiving red card on Sunday.

Alex Lacazette
Left ankle. Alex continues to rehabilitate the injury to his left ankle and is likely to be back in action in October.

Rob Holding
Available for selection.

Dinos Mavropanos
Now back in full training with the first-team squad. Successfully completed 90 minutes with the under-23s against Wolves on Friday evening.

Hector Bellerin
Now back in full training with the first-team squad. Successfully completed 62 minutes with the under-23s against Wolves on Friday evening.

Kieran Tierney
Now back in full training with the first-team squad. Successfully completed 62 minutes with the under-23s against Wolves on Friday evening.

It seems logical that Holding will make his first team comeback against Forest tomorrow night and his return will be a huge boost considering how poorly David Luiz and Sokratis have been playing this season.

Emery is expected to make a number of changes to his starting eleven with Emi Martinez, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers, Joe Willock, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Martinelli all in-line to feature.
