[Video goals] Arsenal 5-0 Notts Forest: Martinelli bags brace for five-star Gunners

Arsenal eased into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a comfortable 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates this evening.

The Gunners started well and opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a wonderful move. Joe Willock found Calum Chambers with a lovely ball out to the right and the defender’s instant volleyed cross found Gabriel Martinelli who headed home a superb effort into the top corner.

Arsenal totally controlled the game and the north Londoners eventually doubled their advantage in the 71st minute when Rob Holding – back from a nine month injury absence – headed home from a Reiss Nelson corner.

Hector Bellerin then made his comeback off the bench after recovering from a knee injury and the Spaniard made an instant impact after setting-up Joe Willock to tap home Arsenal’s third goal in the 77th minute.

Nelson then found the back of the net after being set-up by Chambers to make it 4-0 and there was still time for Martinelli to make it 5-0 as his deflected long range strike looped past the Forest keeper to book Arsenal’s place in the draw for the fourth round of the League Cup.
