Liverpool have confirmed their 19-man travelling squad for Wednesday’s Champions League group stage clash with Genk and it’s mixed news for Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds flew out of John Lennon Airport for Belgium this afternoon and Mohamed Salah is on the plane after recovering from an ankle injury that kept him out of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Salah picked up the injury against Leicester earlier this month and missed the trip to Old Trafford at the weekend but the Egyptian international could now be back in contention after training with the rest of his Liverpool team mates at Melwood this morning.

However, there wasn’t such positive news on Trent Alexander-Arnold as the full-back has been ruled out of the game tomorrow night due to a virus so Klopp will be forced to make a change at right-back.

In a double blow for the European champions, Joel Matip has also been ruled out of the game after picking up a knee injury against United so Joe Gomez is expected to be drafted in to the middle of the back four. Gomez may be deployed at right-back with Dejan Lovren starting alongside Virgil van Dijk in the middle of the defence.

Klopp could also make changes in midfield as he looks to freshen things up following a hard fought draw at United with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner among those pushing for recalls.

Liverpool head to Belgium looking for a win to boost their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages as they currently sit second in Group E on three points – level with Salzburg and one point behind leaders Napoli.

Here is the confirmed 19-man squad as revealed on Liverpoolfc.com:

Alisson, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Mane, Salah, Gomez, Adrian, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Brewster, Robertson, Origi, Kelleher.
