Man City and Liverpool the bookies favourites to win 2020/21 Premier League title

Manchester City and Liverpool are the heavy bookmakers favourites to battle it out for the Premier League title once again this coming season.

City pipped Liverpool to the title in 2018/19 before the Reds got revenge last campaign by storming their way to their first league title in 30 years having finished a whopping 18 points clear of second-placed City.

The duo are once again expected to go head-to-head in 2020/21 and ti would take a brave person to bet against either Manchester City or Liverpool lifting the crown next summer.

City favourites

Pep Guardiola’s men are currently 3/4 favourites to reclaim the title this season despite finishing well behind Liverpool last year. City still have a superb squad and are more than capable of upping their level to the standards we saw in 2018/19.

The Citizens are being tipped to pull of a sensational swoop for Lionel Messi this summer and if they do manage to lure the Argentinean superstar to the Etihad, then their title odds will tumble and they’d be extremely hard to beat this season.

City with Messi on-board would be a dream team and betting companies may as well stop taking bets on the title if this move happens. Punters would be better off gambling at an online casino south africa to find some value than take the odds they’d get on City.

Good odds on Liverpool?

Given how easily they won the title last season, Liverpool will rightly feel slightly aggrieved that are only priced as the 15/8 second favourites to defend their crown this coming campaign. Fans of the Reds will probably see those odds as tempting and who can blame them.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are still a formidable outfit and should be right in the mix come next May. With the likes of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane in their team, Liverpool will be a match for anyone.

Outsiders

Chelsea could be good value as sites like pari pop are offering odds of 11/1 for the Blues to win the title. Chelsea are enjoying an excellent summer with Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell all signed while Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz should follow so Frank Lampard has compiled a strong squad.

Manchester United are also priced at 11/1 and they’ll be in great shape if they can land Jadon Sancho. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team were one of the best performers since Bruno Fernandes arrived in January and they have plenty of firepower with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial in their ranks.

Arsenal could be dark horses if Mikel Arteta can add a few more quality additions but at odds of 50/1 the bookmakers clearly think it’s at least a season too soon for the Gunners to be challenging for the title again.
