Champions League betting tips: Game week 4

bruno fernandes man utd

The Champions League continue this week as clubs play their fourth group stage game. There are some exciting matches coming up so we’ll bring you our latest betting tips for the forthcoming fixtures….

Rennes vs Chelsea

Chelsea have made a solid start to their European campaign having picked up 7 points from their opening 3 games and currently sit top of Group E on goal difference from second-placed Sevilla. After drawing the opening game with Sevilla at Stamford Bridge last month, the Blues have eased to comfortable victories over Krasnodar and Rennes so are well on-course to qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.

Frank Lampard’s side beat Rennes 3-0 at home before the international break so they should be confident of getting a positive result in the reverse fixture in France on Tuesday evening. Rennes have picked up just 1 point – which was a poor 1-1 draw at home to Krasnodar – so we can’t see them coping with an in-form Chelsea side tomorrow.

Chelsea are 8/13 to win the game at www.cancasinos.ca and a 2-0 victory looks good value at 7/1 as the Blues are yet to concede a goal in the Champions League this season. Timo Werner has enjoyed a solid start to life in London and he’s 7/2 to open the scoring at Rennes.

Man Utd vs Basaksehir

Manchester United looked to be flying towards the knockout rounds after securing impressive victories over RB Leipzig and PSG in their opening two fixtures. However, they slumped to a shock 2-1 defeat at Basaksehir earlier this month so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be our for revenge at Old Trafford tomorrow night.

Despite the loss in Turkey, United still sit top of Group H on goal difference from Leipzig and three points clear of PSG so they can maintain that position with victory over Basaksehir on home soil. Since the defeat in Istanbul, Man Utd have secured back-to-back wins over Everton and West Brom so they should be in confident mood heading into this game.

United are 1/4 odds-on favourites to win the game. Some brand new casino sites may give you slightly better odds as they look to attract customers but there isn’t going to be much value in backing the hosts in the match odds market. However, a 2-0 Man Utd win looks a solid bet at odds of 5/1 while Bruno Fernandes is tempting at 11/2 to be first goalscorer.

PSG vs Leipzig

Group H’s other game sees PSG entertain Leipzig in Paris and the French champions desperately need a win to keep themselves in contention. Anything other than all three points at the Parc des Princes tomorrow night and PSG could be facing an early exit from the Champions League just months after reaching the semi-finals last season.

Neymar and Kylian Mbappe missed the first game – which Leipzig won 2-1 – so their return could be key and we think PSG will get the win they need on home soil. The French outfit are 6/10 to win while you can back Leipzig at odds of 4/1. However, our bet is a 2-1 PSG win at odds of 13/2.
