Antonio Conte Proving to Be a Big Hit at Tottenham
When Tottenham hired Antonio Conte back in November 2021, it was a big coup. Conte is regarded as one of the best head coaches in European football
When Tottenham hired Antonio Conte to be their new manager back in November 2021, it was seen as a big coup. Conte is regarded as one of the best head coaches in European football, having had success at every major club he has managed: he won the Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea, while more recently, he helped Inter Milan to their first Serie A title in 11 years.
Conte is renowned for speaking his mind if he is unhappy and has already had numerous rants during the January transfer window. Those issues are now a thing of the past, however, as his side is currently in excellent form in the Premier League.
For those who bet on football or at least keep an eye on the outright markets for a feel of the odds, the bookies certainly reflect Conte’s faith as Tottenham are now priced at odds of 2/9 for a top-four finish this season. The prognosis is good. If they nail a top-four spot, a return to the Champions League would be considered a massive success to Spurs fans.
The North London club are one of the leading football tips in the Premier League in the final third of the campaign due to their impressive run of form. In 2022, some of their positive results include their 3-2 victory at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City, and their hammering of Aston Villa, by 4-0, during their visit to Villa Park.
Spurs Scoring Heavily Again
One of the biggest transformations Tottenham have had under Conte in 2022 is that they are now scoring heavily again. The Italian has found a way of getting the most out of the attacking talent in his squad.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min are one of the best forward partnerships in Europe. They have already scored 40 goals between them this season and both players look to be enjoying playing for their manager.
In 2022 so far, Tottenham accomplished five goals past the likes of both Everton and Newcastle, scored four times in victories over Aston Villa and Leeds, and scored on three occasions in wins against Brighton, Leicester, Manchester City and West Ham.
The spurs’ goalscoring run could come in use if they finish level on points with another team this season. With just eight games to go in the campaign, this run is only bettered by Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Title Challenge Next Season?
Tottenham fans will be hoping Conte can help their side challenge for the Premier League title next season. The Italian is likely to have the chance to add to his squad this summer when the transfer window reopens.
Spurs have not won the league championship in England since 1961 and their last silverware of any kind was the League Cup in 2008. If they transfer their recent form into next season, they will have a good chance of ending that wait.
Manchester City and Liverpool are a long way clear of the pack in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, so in order to challenge for the title next season, they will need to show the same kind of consistency those teams have produced.
The decision to appoint Conte looks to be paying off now. The Italian has given fans optimism that the future can be very bright under his stewardship.
