World Cup 2022 is underway, and the most expected team to lift the trophy is Brazil, with France, Argentina, and England following close behind. While predicting the tournament winner is always a battle between what you want and what reality says, Brazil still has the strongest squad this season.

However, we are just a few days in, and something really unexpected has already happened. While people rooted for Argentina, they lost to Saudi Arabia 1-2 in a starting match on Tuesday 22nd, which provided a really shocking result! Messi admitted the team messed it up and put their stakes on the line.

With Argentina’s loss in mind, Wold Cup 2022, hints to expect the unexpected. Let’s see current predictions.

England

Currently, England sits at 7/1 as a 2022 World Cup winner. But with Jude Bellingham showing his strength in a match against Iran, and Harry Kane still leading the team despite the angle injury, the squad is expected to shine until the end.

Three Lions had a strong beginning. And after Ireland and Scotland, both failed to qualify for the tournament, the whole of Great Britain is keeping their fingers crossed for the team. Many portals already listed their World Cup betting options for Irish players, and Scotland is also looking for ways to bet, meaning that support from the neighbours is on the way.

Meanwhile, after England put six past Iran in the openings, the team is preparing for the next matches against the USA, and Wales. Currently, they are at the top of Group B, and if they end up as group winners, their route to glory could pit them against France, Senegal, Belgium, and Brazil.

Brazil

As a player, when you hear ‘Brazil’ you get chills. The only team that played in every tournament, won 5 times, and holds a record for the most World Cup wins in history.

This year, they are coming particularly strong. Their squad is stacked with quality players – Neymar, Thiago Silva, Rodrygo, and the list goes on. And with a famous forward leading the tournament, they are tipped to be one of the strongest contenders in the 2022 Word Cup.

In their match against Serbia, Brazil broke through with a flourish. Serbia did well to keep it 0-0 in the first 45 minutes, but as the second half started, Brazil was all in. They outmanoeuvre Serbia by 2-0, with Richarlison scoring both goals for the team in 61 and 72 minutes. Considering that Brazil was beaten once in three years, has been untouchable for 18 months, and it’s aiming to set a new record by winning the tournament, and Serbia being an obdurate but limited team, their quest to win the match wasn’t really that hard.

What comes next are their matches against Switzerland and Cameroon, and we expect it to be an easy win. If you are looking for whom to root for and bet on, Brazil is our definite go-for.

Argentina

While many can guarantee Brazil is a sure winner, others lean more towards Argentina, despite their unexpected 1-2 loss against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday 22nd. People really rely on Messi to lead the team toward victory. And oddsmakers and bookies are holding on, not discounting the team’s chances.

As long as the experts say, the match against Saudi Arabia was total bad luck. That’s it. First, the team outplayed Saudi Arabia to a fault, and their win was a simple stroke of luck. They had only three shots and two of them went into the back of the net. Pretty coincidental shot rate, let us tell you.

But, not all is lost for Argentina. Mexico and Poland tied in the group matches, which sets the team just a point close to second place. If they win against Mexico, they will get to the top two in the group. The odds are still high for the team.

France

Last but not least, the question remains will France lift the World Cup trophy and defend the 2018 crown when they won 4-2 over Croatia in the finals?

The team currently sits at +600 odds to win the Cup, as they managed to recover from injuries, deficits, and public disenchantments, that happen before the tournament. This let them regain their power in a victory match against Australia, which ended with a 4-1 result for France. The player of the match was Kylian Mbappe, who scored a goal and made an assist in the second half. Without Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, Presnel Kimpembe, Christopher Nkunku, or N’Golo Kante, the team relies on him to defend the crown in the tournament.

The chances for France getting to finals are still high, but nothing compared to leading Brazil. The question is – will the team manage to face the obstacles?

By many, Brazil is seen as a definite winner, but how the tournament will end will come down not only to mastery, but also to luck.
