Dalglish: “Hodgson has nothing left to prove”

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has said that former Kop boss Roy Hodgson has absolutely nothing to prove when Liverpool clash against West Brom this weekend.

Roy Hodgson will have a reunion with all this former Liverpool employers – but this time on the different side. The current West Brom manager is yet to meet his former Liverpool pals after being sacked as the club’s manager back in January.

Much of the pre-match focus has centred on Hodgson when his current side go face-to-face  against his old side, but Kenny Dalglish insists that the spotlight should be on the game and not the experienced tactician:

Roy (Hodgson) hasn’t got anything to prove to anybody. If you say he has extra motivation then you are doubting the man’s integrity and implying he never had enough motivation before.

During the two sides’ previous meeting in the Barclays Premier League, West Brom were under their ex-manager Roberto Di Matteo while Roy Hodgson led his former side to a hard fought 1-0 victory at Anfield.
