As evidenced by his new deal, Luke Shaw, formerly despised by coaches and supporters alike, has become one of United’s most valuable players.

Luke Shaw is about to sign a new long-term contract with Manchester United after establishing himself as an essential Erik ten Hag’s team member.

Shaw, 27, still has one season left on his contract at Old Trafford, but negotiations have advanced, and club sources anticipate that Shaw will commit his future to the team.

Together with David de Gea and Marcus Rashford, United is in talks with them about new contracts. Rashford, who also has a year left, claims that he and the club have handled the situation respectfully.

De Gea’s one-year contract on a deal worth more than £300,000 per week has been delayed by United, as reported by Telegraph Sport earlier this season, although he might accept different terms to stay into the summer. Shaw’s and Rashford’s return to form has seen a notable uptick in ticket sales at seatsnet.com.

Shaw’s future is now more secure, and he will help them in their effort to follow up their Carabao Cup victory this season with wins in the FA Cup and Europa League. Since October, Ten Hag has started Shaw in every Premier League match, and Shaw has contributed to United’s season turnaround and proximity to a cup treble.

Shaw has fought back in his United career after being publically attacked by Jose Mourinho in post-game interviews. Shaw was in front of me, and I was making all his decisions for him, according to Mourinho, after a 1-1 draw with Everton in April 2017.

“He likes some, he doesn’t like others, and I fell into the bracket where he didn’t like me,” Shaw stated in 2021. No matter what I did or how hard I tried, I could never return to his side.

There is no way to hide the fact that we succeeded. Although he was an excellent manager, the past is the past. The time to move on is now. Although I’m attempting to move on, it’s clear that he can’t.

He always mentions me, which I find to be odd.

Before Mourinho’s firing in December 2018, Shaw fought back into the Portuguese manager’s plans and later served as a senior player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ten Hag. Gareth Southgate singled him out for praise for staying with the team following his red card against Italy during the March international break rather than returning to United as he was suspended to face Ukraine. He has been Southgate’s first-choice left-back.

Mason Greenwood; to be or not to be?

The club had had the 21-year-old on suspension since January 2022, when he was first charged with attempted rape and violence.

At that moment, Greenwood was detained and charged.

Greenwood is still a subject of a Manchester United internal inquiry, even though those accusations have subsequently been withdrawn.

The Daily Mail asserts that the probe will be finished in the summer, but the club has declined to comment.

It also shows division among the personnel, with some believing he deserves another chance while others in the business department fear the harm it might do to the team.

While the inquiry is conducted in the background, Erik ten Hag and his colleagues will concentrate on the outcomes. Those with Manchester United tickets will eagerly await the investigation’s result.

Scholes draws Garnacho parallel to Ronaldo.

Paul Scholes, a former midfielder for Manchester United, has said that young Alejandro Garnacho makes him think of a more impressionable Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garnacho has emerged as United’s breakout star this season with a string of excellent performances. However, he is presently sidelined due to an ankle injury. The dynamic forward has made 29 appearances in all competitions this season after being inactive during the club’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, earning respect and support of manager Erik ten Hag.

The 18-year-old has had a spectacular season after scoring four goals and grabbing five assists, including his last-second winner at Fulham just before the World Cup. He has become a firm fan favourite among those with Manchester United tickets-as evidenced by the ticket numbers on seatsnet.com- thanks to his deft talents and fearless demeanour, and everyone connected to the team is optimistic about his future.

He has received rave reviews throughout the season and was scheduled to make his Argentina senior debut in March – a game that would have a complete sellout on seatsnet.com- if he hadn’t been forced to withdraw from the team due to injury.

Scholes, a former player for United, is a tremendous admirer of Garnacho and thrilled by his potential, to the point that he thinks there are parallels between the Argentine and when Cristiano was a young player.

Scholes expressed her excitement for him on the Webby & O’Neill YouTube channel. “I’m always in awe when I see him; he will be a big star.

“He is so fearless when in control. He resembles Cristiano in many ways as a young athlete.

“He doesn’t care if kicked; he gets up, tries harder, and scores goals. He still has much growing to do, but I don’t see anything stopping him once he develops a strong physical frame and mental fortitude.”

Garnacho, who received his United debut over a year ago from former interim manager Ralf Rangnick, will be looking to get over his present injury and accumulate more playing time before the season is done.

Transfer Watch

According to The Athletic, David De Gea believes that Manchester United’s opening offer needs to be revised as he seeks to extend his contract with the team.

The club is hoping to extend the Spanish goalkeeper’s contract beyond this season because he has been a vital player for the Red Devils in goal.

The Manchester-based team wants to lower the 32-year-old’s salary from £375,000 if they would extend the deal, with him now being the highest-paid player in the league.

Manchester United is apparently in the driver’s seat to sign Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati if extension talks stall further, suggesting he may leave La Liga in the summer.

Diario SPORT claims that the agent for the 20-year-old has already been in touch with the Red Devils to inquire about the potential of bringing his client to Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, has refuted rumours that he wants to be the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Rashford and the club have been in negotiations since his current contract is set to end in 2024.

Rashford is reportedly seeking a record contract worth £500k per week, according to a story from The Daily Star. Rashford immediately responded to the report and called it “absolute nonsense.” Fans with Manchester United tickets will be delighted to learn that the club and the player have maintained respectful stead during negotiations.

According to The Metro, Manchester United plans to offer £80 million for Harry Kane, the star striker for Tottenham Hotspurs.

The Red Devils may try to sign Spurs’ all-time leading scorer in the summer of 2019 as Erik ten Hag looks to expand his offensive options.

According to earlier rumours, Manchester United might bring Dean Henderson to help with the transfer.
