Tottenham had a nightmare champions league first leg after Peter Crouch was sent off early on and the premiership side went on to lose 4-0 at the hands of a slick Real Madrid side. Ex-Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor was once again a thorn in Tottenham’s side bagging a brace either side of Crouch’s sending off for two clumsy challenges.
