Chelsea’s Fernando Torres: 12 Hours and No Goals

Well, the crowd are getting more and more skeptical about their record signing Fernando Torres, as he has now gone a total of 12 hours without scoring a single goal.

Although Chelsea fans will take a bit of heart that 2 hours didn’t come in a blue shirt, but Ancelotti’s persistance for playing a ‘no-part’ man is really not paying any dividends at all, with other strikers becoming increasingly incensed by their lack of selection. Drogba is looking even more likely to leave Stamford Bridge now due to the rather ‘useless’ Spaniard as he seeks better fortunes elsewhere.

The obvious comparison to Fernando Torres’ failiure at Chelsea has brought comparisons to former Chelsea striker, the Ukranian flop Andrey Shevchenko, who like Torres, failed to impress after his big money transfer.

It probably isn’t Torres’ inability to justify his massive price tag though, as he did brilliantly in justifying it at Merseyside, where he went on to be a Kop favourite before moving to London on a £50m transfer deal. It is rumoured that his 4/5 year deal will earn him a massive total of 40 million pounds. But he will have to start producing the goods on the pitch if he is to start repaying that wage packet.
