Juventus will hope to end their four-game winless stream when they host Frosinone on Serie A matchday 26 at the Allianz Stadium.

Since the 3-0 away victory to Leece on 21st January, Massimiliano Allegri’s team have played four games without a win, drawing two and losing two. They lost to Serie A table toppers, Inter Milan as well as 14th-paced Udinese, while also playing out a 1:1 draw with Empoli and a disappointing 2:2 draw with relegation-threatened Hellas Verona in their last match.

Verona opened the scoring in the 11th minute through a stunning strike by Michael Folorunsho from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic restored parity just before the end of the first half with a well-dispatched penalty kick after a handball in the penalty box.

The Serie A giants came out gunblazing in the second half but were made to work again when Dutch winger Tijjani Noslin nutmegged Juventus goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny to restore the lead for Verona.

The Bianconeri levelled the scoring for the second time in the game after Adrien Rabiot connected swiftly to Manuel Locatelli’s cross.

Federico Chiesa thought he had claimed all three points after his instinctive strike was aimed at the near post, but was denied by a stunning save from Lorenzo Montipo to keep the scores level.

Any hopes of a title challenge may have been squashed as the Bianconeri now sit nine points behind Inter who have a game in hand.

For Frosinone, they are still without a victory away from home this season in Serie A. Eusebio Di Francesco’s team are currently suffering an abysmal form, conceding 11 goals in their last three matches. Their poor record against Juventus does them no favour heading into this contest as they have only recorded a draw while losing seven of the last eight fixtures against the 36-time Scudetto winners. Their last four losses in a row against the Bianconeri has ended in an aggregate score of 9:1.

The Canarini lost their recent domestic tie against AS Roma and were left to rue their earlier missed chances as Roma surged to a 3:0 win.

On loan Juventus youngster, Matias Soule carved out two great chances, firstly taking a shot that was aimed at the bottom corner, before seeing a curler from outside the box parried out by Roma’s goalkeeper, Mile Svilar.

Another on-loan Juventus forward Kaio Jorge had three chances in quick succession, drawing the first save from Svilar, a smart block from Gianluca Mancini before striking the third attempt off target from yards out.

It was a showpiece of on-loan Juventus youngsters but this time from Daniele De Rossi’s team as Dean Huijsen scored a goal-of-the-season contender when he carried the ball from the halfway line before unleashing a rocket past Frosinone’s goalkeeper, Stefano Turati.

Sardar Azmoun was the quickest to react to Bryan Cristante’s rebounded effort before Leandro Paredes added a third to pile more misery on Eusebio’s side.

Both Juventus and Frosinone are in dire need of victory. A loss for the Old Ladies could see AC Milan usurp them to second place while they drop down to third place. A loss for Frosinone could see the former Serie B champions drop down to relegation places if Empoli and Verona secure victories.

Juventus v Frosinone team news

Gleison Bremer will return to the team after serving a one-match suspension against Verona.

Danilo is out of the clash following an ankle injury leaving a spot for either Daniele Rugani or Alex Sandro to feature at the back three.

Vlahovic is at risk of a one-match suspension if he receives a booking on Sunday.

Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli remain out due to off-pitch-related issues. Moose Kean, Mattia De Sciglio and Mattia Perin are facing up to a month out with injury and are out of contention for this fixture.

For Eusebio’s side, Simone Romagnoli will make a return from suspension and could feature in this fixture. Luca Garritano and Nadir Zortea will both be in the travelling squad to Turin.

Meanwhile, Anthony Oyono, Riccardo Marchizza, Matheus Lusuardi and Kevin Bonifazi are still facing spells on the sideline due to injury.

Frosinone would once again count on on-loan Juventus youngster, Soule who is the club’s highest scorer, to make a big statement against his parent club. The youngster who has completed the most dribbles in Serie A this season is tipped to spearhead the Canarini attack.

Predicted starting line-ups

Juventus predicted starting line-up: Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Sandro; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Yildiz, Vlahovic

Frosinone predicted starting line-up: Turati; Zortea, Monterisi, Okoli, Valeri; Mazzitelli, Barrenechea, Brescianini; Soule, Jorge, Harroui

Prediction

After failing to win any of their last four matches, the Bianconeri could see this match as a chance at redemption, and a completely high-scoring, dominant performance is expected from the home side.

However, Frosinone are also capable of causing an upset which was made evident in their 4:0 thumping of Napoli in the Coppa Italia.

With on-loan Juventus youngsters, Soule, Jorge and Enzo Barrenechea featuring for the away side, an impactful audition is expected as the trio would put up impressive performances to give the home crowd a glimpse of what they could bring to the team ahead of next season.

Juventus are the stronger side here and are well away from potentially losing the second spot to Milan who are hot on their trail.

A win here could bring about a string of positive results going forward for Juventus.
