Arsenal and Manchester United now know their route to the final of the champions league and Man Utd will be far happier with the draw than Arsenal that’s for sure.

The full draw:

Quarter Finals:

Arsenal vs Barcelona

(First leg Wednesday, March 31 second leg on Tuesday, April 6.)

Lyon vs Bordeaux

Bayern Munich vs Manchester United

(First leg Tuesday, March 30 second leg on Wednesday, April 7)

Inter Milan vs CSKA Moscow

Semi Finals:

Bayern Munich / Manchester United vs Lyon / Bordeaux

Inter Milan / CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal / Barcelona

The tie of the round is without a doubt Arsenal vs Barcelona. It’s the game everyone has been waiting to see since the 2006 final and now Arsenal have their chance for revenge. A game of pure football that is sure to be a spectacle to remember. With the first leg at the Emirates, it leaves Arsenal with a daunting trip to the Nou Camp for the second leg.

If Arsene Wenger manages to get past the champions, he will most likely have to face his old foe Jose Mourinho in the Semi finals, so it couldn’t have got much harder for the Gunners.

Manchester United couldn’t have asked for a better draw. They face Bayern Munich in the quarters then the winner of Lyon/Bordeaux in the semi’s. Sir Alex Ferguson couldn’t have wished for more than that.

But the draw does still keep alive hopes of an all-English final, Manchester United will be there, but it doesn’t look good for Arsenal.

Who do you think will progress? Will Arsenal manage to overcome Barca? Have United got it easy? Please leave your comments below…….

It’s unbelievable, how did Utd manage to get this draw? Arsenal vs barca will be an amazing game to watch, dont fancy having Messi attacking Clichy but their defense is worse than ours so we’ll have a chance!

    Welcome back Henry14!

come on arsenal, it’s not like messi is not unbeatable, he’s only human

He may not be unbeatable, but he’s the closest thing to it!

The best thing about the tie is that we have a great attack and they have a poor defense, so lets concentrate on stopping messi and co. and we will be able to score a couple at the other end.

How come ManU will be there? Are they going to the final without playing quarter final and semi final? Have some sense. Bayern will be a tough test for them…

It was the best draw possible for United, and they will be in the final. Bayern are rubbish, apart from Ribery/Robben they have nothing.

A sensible person would assume that Man Utd have a relatively easy draw for a champions league quarter/semi finals. It couldn’t get much easier for them to reach the final.

Yes as sensible person would see that it is a relatively easy draw but they are not there yet and it is the arrogance of statements like this made about them that makes them one of the most hated teams in the world.

Not really, it wasn’t the fact that it’s ‘Manchester United’, it was the opposition they face. If Arsenal had got United’s draw, the title would have been ‘Arsenal are there – will United?’ so the statement is based on the fact that United got a very favourable draw and will have to beat 3 of the weakest teams left to get to the final – which i think they will with relative ease bearing in mind its a quarter/semi final of the champions league.

Barca have a poor defence? You should check their defensive record in the league and in europe

What in La Liga where teams just roll over to Barca and Real and during an easy group stage? Means nothing, it is well known that Barca have a suspect defense.

Arsenal is the only team that can play the game Barca plays. Barca has never faced a team that is equally as good at passing and attacking as they are so their defense will be tested for the first since 2006 and it wasn’t even the same defense then 🙂 I believe arsenal will progress, even if they don’t they’ll show what true class is

Man Utd record against Bayern is dismal, they have Ribery and Robben, only Rooney has kept Utd’s chances alive, second top scorer at Utd own goals, Bayern wikll beat Utd

I am confident that with the current form of Cesc, Abou, Alexandre, Samir, Andrei, Manu and Theo in mid field, we are going to out play them. My worry is whether unpredictable Niclaus will convert the many passes he will surely get from mid field into goals. The second worry is in defence. Who will pair with Thomas? Sol is slow and might not cope with the trickery of Messi. Othewise my prediction is 3 – 2 aggregate in favour of Arsenal.

MANURE will learn that Bayern are no pushovers and MANURE is a ONE man team. Ribbery and Robben will tear the MANURE defense apart.

Arsenal and Barcelona play similar tactics this season. The two teams have very similar profile of player in the attack. Just compare the following player: Fabregas – Messi; Xavi – Arshavin; Iniesta – Nasri; Bendtner – Ibrahimovic (they are both tall and both can miss a lot of clear chances 😀 )…
We got to admit that Barcelonas attack is slightly better than Arsenals but on the other hand Arsenals defence is much better than Barcelonas, plus we have Song in defensive midfield, and i think that he could be a key man in a fixture like this. If we sum up all of that i think that Arsenal have a realistic chance of progressing to the semis.
