The transfer window is officially open and clubs across Europe are currently pushing to finalise deals for their targets ahead of the coming campaign.

For some, it’s a much-needed chance to recover from a disappointing end to last season; for others, it’s an opportunity to build on strong momentum. And for many more, it’s about reinforcing their squad with added firepower — not only to defend the silverware they’ve already won but to mount serious challenges for more in the upcoming campaign.

In this article, Football Talk brings you a roundup of all the latest transfer news across Europe.

Arsenal in talks to sign Rodrygo

While much of the attention has been on the centre-forward positions, where talks are ongoing for Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, the left wing is also another position the club are looking to reinforce this summer.

Several left-wing options have been linked with a move to the Emirates, but it appears that Arsenal are now prioritising a move for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo as their preferred option.

As per Ben Jacobs, Arsenal hold a ‘genuine interest’ in the two-time Champions League winner – much to the delight of those who buy Arsenal tickets.

The transfer expert adds that the North London club have begun initial talks with the player’s entourage since May over the possibility of bringing him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

A player of Rodrygo’s qualities will undoubtedly fetch a steep fee, and it’s no surprise Jacobs claims Madrid are demanding a payment in the region of £76m to sanction his departure from the Spanish capital.

Andy Robertson gives the green light to join Atletico

Andy Robertson has been one of Liverpool’s longest-serving players, having joined the club in the summer of 2017 from Hull City. Although he played a key role in Liverpool’s title triumph last season, he still wasn’t his blistering self compared to his early years at Anfield. With Liverpool reportedly nearing a move to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, his time in England could be nearing an end, with Laliga looking to be a possibility.

Now, according to Sebastian Vidal, Robertson has informed his representatives that he’s open to joining Atletico, who have been keen on signing him this summer. The report adds that the Scotland international does not want to join another Premier League team out of respect for the Reds fans. Hence, he’s prioritising a move to Spain instead.

Real Madrid keeping tabs on Ibrahima Konate

Real Madrid are looking to make an additional defensive reinforcement this summer and are keeping an eye on Liverpool’s centre-back Ibrahima Konate for a possible summer move.

This is according to transfer expert Sebastian Vidal, who claims that the Spanish giants are closely monitoring the France international’s situation at Anfield.

Konate has a year left on his contract, and Liverpool are now pushing to extend his deal. However, talks have not progressed, and a summer departure is possible should the club fail to reach an agreement, according to the report.

Madrid are now keeping tabs on the Frenchman, according to Vidal, and it’ll be interesting to see if they decide to proceed with a deal this summer or wait to sign him for free when his contract expires.

Fans with Real Madrid tickets are expecting another busy summer in the transfer window after a poor 2024/25 campaign and they’d be happy with see the arrival of a player such as Konate.

Chelsea prepare new Jamie Bynoe-Gittens offer

Chelsea are set to improve their offer to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, according to Bobby Vincent.

The former Manchester City academy graduate is high on Chelsea’s list as a possible replacement for Jadon Sancho, who returned to Old Trafford after Chelsea opted against triggering his obligatory buy option. The West London club had planned to include Bynoe-Gittens in their Club World Cup squad, but no agreement was reached with Borussia Dortmund. Consequently, the youngster stayed with the German side and featured in their opening match against Palmeiras.

According to Bobby Vincent, Chelsea are still in talks with Borussia Dortmund and are preparing a new and improved offer to sign the winger.

Having seen their £42m offer rebuffed, Vincent adds that the club are now hoping to raise their offer to meet Dortmund’s £50m valuation, with the player keen on the move.

Fulham approach PSV Eindhoven to sign Ricardo Pepi

Fulham are looking to reinforce their squad this summer after their profligacy in front of goal cost them European qualification next season.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Cottagers have ‘approached’ PSV over the possible transfer of USMNT centre-forward Pepi to the club this summer.

The Cottagers have several options in attack and have now added the prolific forward to the list of possible targets to reinforce Marco Silva’s attack next season.

However, the club will face stern competition in the race for his signature, as Romano adds that several clubs in Italy and Spain are also keeping an eye on the 22-year-old.

Tottenham join the race to sign Raphael Onyedika

Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Nigerian international defensive midfielder Raphael Onyeika this summer, according to Sebastien Vidal.

Onyedika emerged as one of the standout midfielders in the recently concluded Belgian Jupiler Pro League season. A mainstay in Nicky Hayen’s squad, he made 52 appearances across all competitions, including 11 in the UEFA Champions League—where he scored a spectacular goal against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

His performances have caught the attention of several clubs, including Tottenham, who have now expressed interest in signing him this summer, according to the report.

Vidal adds that other Premier League clubs, including West Ham United and the newly promoted Leeds United, are set to rival the North London club in the race for Onyedika’s signature.

His physicality and profile suit the demands of the Premier League, with Spurs now keen on the move.

With two years left on his contract at Jan Breydel Stadium, the transfer expert adds that Brugge values the midfield ace around £25m, a fee that should be within Spurs’ reach.

Real Madrid eye fast-rising African talent

Real Madrid are plotting a swoop to sign Granada’s highly-rated youngster Oscar Naasei this summer, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The centre-back caught attention last season with combative displays in the Segunda Federación. A host of top European clubs are courting the Ghanaian defender, who has become one of the fastest-rising youngsters in Europe.

According to Fichajes, Madrid have set their sights on Naasei and views him as the ideal quality to bolster their youth ranks. However, the Nazaríes are not budging on their £8m valuation, a fee that the Los Blancos might find a bit too steep.

Despite Madrid’s reluctance to meet the defender’s valuation, Fichajes adds that the Spanish giant’s interest in the defensive ace remains ‘strong’ as they look to bolster their squad for the future.
