Transfer News: Gunners Set To Keep One & Lose This Summer

Here is some transfer news involving Arsenal, as one player looks set to stay at the Emirates while another could be on his way:

Nasri to Stay at The Emirates

Well, Samir Nasri’s agent has come out with a statement and claims that Nasri is committed to continuing his career with the Gunners:

“The interest from Juventus and Inter Milan? There is nothing with them. There is no break with Arsenal, in fact, we start over negotiations for the extension of the contract which currently expires in 2012.”

His Agent Told

It’s not uncommon for agents to come out and say these kind of things, it’s all part of the negotiating game these days. But until the new contract is sorted out, there will always be speculation…

But Bendtner Is To Go to the Nou Camp

“I need to have a talk with him (Arsene Wenger) because I’m not satisfied with playing on the right wing, which I’ve done more or less all season long.

I’m concentrating on getting the Champions League place, then we’ll do the evaluation at the end of the season.”

Bendtner speaking to The Sun about his future

Well, so it looks like Arsenal’s ‘superstar’ striker is set for a summer departure, but to where you might ask, well it seems that you can get the answer from him:

“Is it a free choice? If so, I choose Barcelona. It would be a dream to play with Xavi and Iniesta.”

Bendtner Speaking about his dream move

It’s the dream fantasy football attacking lineup, isn’t it, Bendtner-Villa-Messi!!

I would rather sell Bendtner and retain Chamakh.

For me it is 2 strikers out and 2 in. Bendtner and Chamakh out Benzema & Falcao.

4 Midfielders/Wingers out Denilson, Diaby, Arshavin and Rosicky out, 3 in Inler or Parker, Young and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

4 defenders out Eboue, Eastmond, Squillaci, Clichy, 4 in Jagielka, Samba, Vertonghen, Jenkinson

I then have 9 players i would release or sell if we can, Almunia, Lehmann, Hoyte, Cruise, Ozyakup, Randall, Deacon, Sunu, Murphy

In goal Chezzer would start but we have Fabianski, Mannone and Martinez to keep him on his toes

Samba and Vertonghen would start as my first choice centre backs with Djourou, Koscielney, Bartley and Miquel to come in. Jagielka and Vermaelen would start as my full backs, with Sagna, Jenkinson, Gibbs and Traore as cover.

The defensive midfield would be Inler or Parker as the anchorman. Song Frimpong and Coquelin as understudies. The offensive midfield would depend on whether we went for playmakers or wingers but what a choice for 3 positions Cesc, Wilshire, Nasri, Lansbury, Ramsey, Jet, Young, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Botelho

There would be 6 strikers for 2 positions RVP, Benzema would probably start but you would have Falcao, Walcott, Vela and Afobe in support.

Obviously a fairly big squad but i would give some of the younger players short term loans, whilst the likes of Miyaichi, Silva, Galindo, Shea, Watt would go on season long loans.

      BC –
Enjoyed your comments and agreed with just about everything. You have a good depth of knowledge of the Arsenal squad etc.,I think we do need an experienced keeper though, one who can come and catch a cross maybe. You know what needs doing, as do many other Gooners and football supporters everywhere. However Mr. Wenger doesn`t seem to and he appears to have total control.

Bendtner, you would mess Barca’ play with your pathetic 1st touch!

Bendtner is leaving for sure, you can see Wenger hasn’t any faith in him as he used to back in the days. Chamakh will offer us more as he’s more of a hard worker in retaining the ball, I believe he would come good in his second season.

the problems at Arsenal are not big Problems and have a simple fix.

    1. sell Almunia, Flappyhandski and Mannone bring in one new kepper either to replace or support Chezzer

    2. Get rid of Djurou the guy is a fool!!
and Bring in a dominant CB to be along side Vermaelen. its Squillaci and Koscielney first season they can be good cover.

    3. Get rid of Eboue, Diaby, Rosicky, and Bent!!!ner and bring in a new fast CF and Winger.

    so we have

    Sanga Vermaelen New CB Clichy

    Song Wilshire

    Walcott Nasri

    Van Pirsie

    -New GK
    -New FAST Winger

so there we have it, iv been able to make a solid Arsenal team with no dramatic change and only one new 1st team player. obviously theres room to splash out. maybe swap Denilson or Squillaci if you dont want to give him another season, all im saying is there is no need for dramatics just chop away at the dead wood.

well above all, i think wenger is so much into transfers and money than trophies. he really needs to concentrate on the team’s pride not money. we lost all 4 trophies that we were going for because of his funny changes of the team. he really has to consider that 6 yrs without a cup isn’t a joke. we ain’t stoke or wolves or westham. we are the gunners!!!
