Man Utd, Spurs, Arsenal & Liverpool: Winner & Losers of the Week
It’s another week gone in the EPL and it’s another edition of our ‘Winners and Losers’ series, so let’s see who’s a winner and who’s a loser this week.
The City Of Manchester
The money must have been pouring in Manchester over this week, from the betting on whether Manchester United would seal the title to betting on Manchester City winning the FA Cup, along with the prize money from them winning the cup’s themselves, and not to mention the pouring amount of cash at Eastlands from Sheikh Monsieur!
Manchester United secured their place in the history books as they went ahead of Liverpool in terms of number of First Division/Premier League titles, whilst Manchester City managed to secure their first piece of major silverware in 35 years.
It’s a case of win one, lose one for Tottenham this week, as they have lost against Manchester City earlier in the week only to all but book their place in the Europa League with a win against Liverpool.
Arsenal have simply lost the plot now, having only won 1 of their last 6 fixtures, including a 1-2 defeat in their final home game at the Emirates on Sunday. But it has to be said, on another day where the referee wasn’t actually on Aston Villa’s team, Arsenal would have thrashed the villains.
It looks like no European football this year for the mighty reds after they crumbled to a defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool still have a chance to snatch away that coveted 5th place with the last match of the season, but that’s only a slim chance. No tour of Russia for the reds then?
