Yes, you’ve heard it, Gooners are finally starting to get fed up with the lack of success, arrogance and selfishness the club has suffered and displaying to its fans. The club has announced a 6% increase to ticket prices for next season, which in my opinion, is absolutely preposterous and disrespectful to the fans, who already have been paying enormous amounts of money just to watch and cheer on their beloved club.

Arsenal fans have finally lost it and have spoken up against the team’s performance and ticket price hike. It wasn’t a large crowd, probably in the hundreds, but it’s still a protest. Here are the videos and clips of the protests before the Aston Villa match:

The banner says it all…. enough with the greed. Here is a link to a website, who are advocating of the return for the “old” Arsenal, check it out:

There are also several facebook groups that are advocating for Wenger’s sacking. Fans are starting to lose it with Wenger, the anti-Wenger fans are still a minority, but it is still disturbing. 6 trophyless years along with a 6% increase in ticket prices is absurd and way overboard…. will Wenger and the Arsenal board FINALLY listen?

Arsene Wenger…. will he stop complaining and start listening?

The Arsenal board…. 6% you’re having a laugh

What do you think? Will Wenger and the board start listening? Are the protests justified? Do you want Wenger to leave? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Cheers and take care,

Omar –

It’s time for the fans to stand up against the way the club’s being run. I won’t be renewing my membership and I urge you to do the same. Until the club actually spends money on experienced, proven players it will be the same old rubbish.

i think they are right to protest , The arsenal of the good old days has gone , 6 years without a trophy says it all either arsene should go or the board should spend some fucking money! buying all kids all the time isn’t working im not saying go and spend £50 million on one player like chelsea but instead of keeping all the money for yourself spend some on this football which you invested in to , Arsenal fc for life <3

      May 20, 2011 at 12:07 am

tbh Jordan in the last summer window arsene bought Sebastien Squillaci whos 30 and has plenty of experience, Laurent Koscielny whos 25 and came off a great season at lorient and Marouane Chamakh whos 27… not really kids.

and before thenm there was Andrey Arshavin 28, Thomas Vermaelen 24, Tomas Rosicky was 25 when he joined. nearly all the young players have been at arsenal since they were kids and even though some may not be from these shores are more arsenal then most fans.

i dont think the money should be spent on the team as i dont think it needs too much investment i would much rather see players out there who can honestly say ‘they are arsenal’ and when they kiss the badge they mean it rather then bringing in players whos hearts are else where.

i think the money should be put towards the fans!!! although im not as extreme as some of you who have commented, i do think this ticket price raise is a joke and i think it should be the other way round given the profits made.

Great news Andrew you won’t be renewing your membership. The club is much better of without ‘supporters’ like you. More chance for fans who support the team to come to games, bet the atmosphere will be all the better for it.

mate its easy for you to say because you don’t waste 2 grand a year to watch those bottlers choke when ever the going gets tough. wenger and his bottlers are paid with supporters money so they must considre what fans want. 6% ur avin a laugh

@ JOHN youre a tool…its fans like you that make wenger thinks hes still doin the right thing. whats wrong with a fan protesting? its his money so he can do whatever he likes with it. doesnt make you a better fan than him. if anything he is more passionate about the club than you are so PEOPLE LIKE YOU NEED TO SHUT DA HELL UP AND WATCH OUR CLUB GROW COS THEN THE GREEDY FAT LAZY BOARD WILL THEN LISTEN TO US.

Well Andrew, despite what self-righteous fans like John have to say, I fully agree with you and am tired of being ripped off by my club.

John, I don’t know whether you actually enjoy being taken for granted and mindlessly paying your fees, which end up in the shareholders’ pockets rather than invested in the squad, but to say that Arsenal will be better off without ‘supporters’ who can see that they are being fleeced is absolutely ridiculous. The persons taking Andrew’s and my seats will probably be a prawn-sandwich muncher and let’s see you enjoy the atmosphere (or lack thereof) then!

Dan, you missed the point of my post; Arsenal is my club and I support them through good times and lean times. People like you and Andrew are the prawn-sandwich munchers; as soon as things don’t go your way you jump ship because what..lost your bragging rights with your mates? Arsenal had to face up to money bags (Chelsea) and financial doping (ManU) for the last 6-7 years and now we have Man city… I am very proud of my club keeping the purse strings tight and still being able to compete for top spots. The trophies will come, probably not next year (Citeh will win all) but certainly in the future when the money bags have faded away.

thing is no one asked wenger to break the bank or compete with chelsea and man city although we are not far away from them in terms of wages, only spend what he made out of ade and toure sales.board member make huge profits and wenger gets a huge pay rise but what does the team gets “squillachi and almunia” lolz. its supporters like you who should go and support mid table teams like fulham and everton etc who have no ambition or history like arsenal. we are a big club we can’t accept mediocrity especially when we can afford it.

dream on john.its your right to do bottom line is arsenal wont win any trophy for the next twenty years unless wenger and his friends do somethin to change this team around.they so much believe in mirrecles that they have lost is a compatetive sport.mirrecles dont work here.this team is very weak.we need tried and tested players who’ll come and deliver.period!!!explain this to me…….how is it that pavlyuchenko is playing for spurs whiles bendtner is playin for us????

      • Andre

        May 20, 2011 at 12:37 am

fikile i love how a team can go though 33games in a season pretty much in first or second and be called weak, Arsenal have obviously hit a bad run 5games left in the season and the way we have played isnt good enough. there is always room to get stronger but arsenal are definitely not a weak side.

and you say we need tried tested proven players but who?? we need a GK last summer we went for joe Heart we didn’t get him, we went for Given we didn’t get him who else is more proven in the PL that we could have got??
We needed a CB we went for Cahil we couldnt get him, we went for Jagielka we couldnt get him. once again who else is more proven in the PL that we could have got??

so we settled for a France ‘proven’ experienced Int. and a up and coming. we just had the bad luck of verminator being out the whole season.

there are obvious players that need to go ie.
but there is no mirrecles needed. 4 players are needed GK, Dominant CB, Winger and BIG DM

Wotever people’s views, we must all respect them. The main topic for protest is ticket prices, and on the back of it if we are not spending on players, where is the money going ??

I was part of the protest on sunday, of which I was proud to be part of. The whole world and his wife have been moaning lately about ticket prices at arsenal, but when it comes down it most, shut up and pay their renewals.

From my point of view, as said a million times, the club has now made us feel customers rather than supporters, and if we don’t like it, then they don’t care as there are others ready to fulfill those tickets.

My first gripe is when we were relocating to the new ground, season ticket holders were not allowed to move from upper tier seats to lower tier ! This is an absolute disgrace. A group of us wanted to sit together in the lower tier but only those that had lower tier season tickets could do this.

This was the perfect chance for supporters to finally sit in section sof the ground with people that they wanted to sit next to, but Arsenal were only interested in creating a theatre effect audience that would not be hostile.

Secondly, my next gripe is that many my age now have parents who are reaching the 65 year mark and should be entitled to a concession, but in order to get that they would have to move to Family Enclosure (when the space became available). Why should we have to lose the privelidge of sitting with our dads who brought us up the arsenal way, and now not have the cash to renew at adult prices !

When you go to the cinema or theatre with a concession, they don’t say you sit here, but your grandad has got to sit in the last 3 rows on his own !!

My 3rd is with regard to arsenal not allowing season tickets in the clockend behind the goal. The club say it’s because for some big games, they may have to give that allocation up. Well wasn’t this the case in the old clock end for years and years ?? Yes it was a pain to move, as we lost the atmosphere for those games but we got on with it and knew we would return the week after.

I know many that are relocated to other seats for champions league games in blocks 114 and surrounding to make room for visiting VIP’s etc …

Silver membership rising from £26 – £39 for lite !!

Lack of banners etc in the souless bowl… I could go on …

On the back of all that, the team win nothing, crap players being paid silly amounts of money and handed long contracts, and on top of that then dish out a 6.5% rise.

My last moan and one for all to take in is, IF we end up finishing 4th, why should we be punished and have to use a credit up off our 7 cup ties to attend for the team’s poor performance ???

If we have to play this game, prices should be set at CARLING CUP PRICES !

So .. as they say .. let’s get our own ship in order and look after the FANS, and then we can moan about the manager.

Without us the club cannot function.. FACT !

    MOAN OVER for now …

scream 4 cheese i could not have written a better post after 24 years as a season ticket holder ive finally had enough and wont be going back

Talk about wenger being out of touch with reality….sounds like this JOHN fella has long been out of touch even before wenger. YOU HAVE BEEN BRAIN WASHED MATE!!!! As my name says, im forever gonna be an Arsenal fan but with the right to protest and save my money if the board arent using it for the greater good of the club. if the club was human, it would agree with andrew and the rest of us cos we actually make sense!! oh and by the way you think your loyalty is being rewarded? No it isnt cos the board actually wants the prawn sandwich plastic fans that can cough up these ridiculous sums more than you supposed “loyal fan” that is satisfied with coming 3rd and 4th when all we need is a lil work here and there. Youve been BRAIN WASHED as well as others that have the same mentality as you.

Spend some f***ing money … yet they protest ticket price rises.

    Erm hypocrites?

Ignore them in my opinion they are nobodies. If they do not want to support Arsenal I do not care hopefully the Season ticket waiting list will reduce and I can get one :).

The season ticket waiting list will soon be exposed as myth.

    May 19, 2011 at 7:26 pm

i think this is a very interesting subject, i understand people protesting the ticket price raise as with our club always making a huge profit i dont believe there is any no need for it.

although as an Arsenal fan i dont think our board has been bad in the past, compared to some ownership Arsenal is a very well run club but i do hope these protest make the arsenal board see sense.

but on people protesting on how the club is run as in wengers point of view i truly hold trust in wenger and i believe he is listening to the fans. we all wanted a new CB last summer and Wenger brings in 2. one experienced france international and one that had a very good previous season in france. and we wanted a big CF which he brought in.

everyone knows that that with the PL you usually need a season to settle and all i here is supporters getting on players such as Chamakh, Squillaci and Koscielny back when the only problem theyv had is because of injuries the have been thrown strait into the first team.

to summarise COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE protesting a ticket price raise. but Wenger is the best manager for Arsenal and he does listen just wait and see this summer.

(dont expect the players iv named to leave but others that are not good enough ie. Eboue, Diaby, BENTner, Rosicky and Almunia)

these players are what theyve achieved is beyond me!!!!!the way they try their level best to win matches!!!!its unbilievable!!!bt they need help.from thier manager that is…he needs to bring in expirience to help them out!!!!!if he does that, arsenal can win this leage everytime!!!luk at barca!!!!!they ur young bt they have experience in key positions!!!!the goalkeeper is expirienced!!!puyol….ABIDAL…xavi…thats why they keep winning.wenger should do the same and not count on luck alone!!!jesus!!!!this is not his money!!!

Great debate fellow Gooners and thanks all for commenting, I believe that enough is enough…. the hike in ticket prices is disrespectful to all the loyal Gunners.

It is unfair and the fans have a right to voice their opinions, the board and Wenger must show initiative and intent to finally start getting the trophies and honors this club and their fans deserve.

    Cheers and take care everyone,

I’m a season ticket holder, have been since 1984 and let me tell you, our club is unrecognisable now. My season ticket was £226 in Bergkamp’s first season, now it’s £1390! Going to Arsenal is cringeworthy, full of Muswellhillbillys singing ‘we’re by far the greatest team’ every 5 mins, hot dogs dearer than what I paid to watch us in the 87 league cup final, and a board that is losing touch with reality. For all you people sticking up for Wenger and the board, read your history books and find out what we once stood for. ’cause it seems like it’s all a distant memory…winning on the pitch will never happen whilst qualifying for a trophy we will never win is the board’s most important concern.
