Man Utd eye move for Antonee Robinson as Hall alternative

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Fulham defender Antonee Robinson as a potential alternative option to Lewis Hall, as per talkSPORT.
Following Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s serious knee issue, the Red Devils have prioritised revamping the midfield department this summer.
United have already purchased Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans from Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively for a combined fee of around £83m.
However, the Old Trafford club lack depth in the left-back position and, having qualified for next season’s Champions League, they need options to challenge on all fronts.
Luke Shaw has been the first-choice left-back over the years, but he has had fitness problems. Patrick Dorgu was purchased to support the Englishman, but he has been displaying his best as a winger.
Now, talkSPORT state that Man Utd have identified Hall as the primary target to strengthen the LB position. But having already sold Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, while Bruno Guimaraes is closing in on a deal to Arsenal, Newcastle don’t want to let Hall leave.
Therefore, United have earmarked Robinson as an alternative option, and the 28-year-old would be a cheaper option than the Newcastle star.
Robinson to Man Utd
The USA international is valued at around £19m by Transfermarkt and has entered the final two years of his current contract. So, the Cottagers might be open to cashing-in on him this summer to make the most profit out of his departure.
Robinson is a 6ft tall left-footed left-back. He is quick, strong, good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back, can deliver excellent crosses from the flanks, and is efficient in defensive contributions.
Robinson showcased his best in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign, registering 10 assists and keeping five clean sheets in 36 appearances.
However, he struggled with fitness problems last term. Robinson is a Premier League-proven player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. Therefore, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Old Trafford club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services this summer.
