Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held talks to sign Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen, as per TEAMtalk.
The Lilywhites currently have Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as options to deploy in the centre-forward position. However, the Englishman has struggled to showcase his best since joining from AFC Bournemouth a couple of years ago.
The forward even remained sidelined during the first half of last campaign due to a serious knee injury. On the other hand, Richarlison was Spurs’ highest scorer last term, but his long-term future is currently uncertain as his existing deal is set to expire at the end of next season.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Tottenham are planning to upgrade the No.9 position, but they first need to offload Solanke or Richarlison to create space for the new striker.
After showcasing his qualities in the Turkish Super Lig, Osimhen is ready to move to the Premier League, and Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign him. Apart from Spurs, other clubs have also received the opportunity to secure his services.
It is still unclear whether the North London club would be making a move for him. However, Osimhen is currently on a very high wage at Galatasaray and Spurs will have to make him one of the club’s highest-paid players to match his current earnings.
The 27-year-old is valued at around £64m by Transfermarkt and still has a contract until 2029. Therefore, Cimbom are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash-in.
Osimhen to Tottenham
Although Osimhen helped Napoli win the Serie A title, he left the club on a sour note. He initially joined Galatasaray on loan in 2024 before the deal became permanent last year.
In 39 appearances across all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign, Osimhen made 44 goal contributions. Last season, he continued to showcase his productivity, scoring 22 goals and registering six assists in 33 appearances in all tournaments.
He has even helped Galatasaray win two league titles over the last two seasons. He is a talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. Therefore, Osimhen would be a great coup for Tottenham should they purchase him.
