Arsenal now looking to hijack Liverpool transfer for Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola

Arsenal are looking to sign a left winger this summer and having missed out on Vinicius Junior’s purchase from Real Madrid, they are exploring alternatives in the market with their season set to commence this weekend with the FA Community Shield.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola has been linked with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, with Liverpool believed to be keen on his services as well with the Frenchman expected to pursue a new challenge for regular minutes.

Football Insider has reported that Liverpool’s lack of urgency towards trying to secure Barcola’s signature has compelled Arsenal into considering hijacking the 23-year-old’s capture from PSG, who are seeking £145 million for his services this summer.

During their pursuit of Vinicius, it was clear that Arsenal have adequate funds to sign a superstar, so they might be in a position to match PSG’s asking price for Barcola whilst handing him a contract good enough to lure him away from Liverpool.

Barcola a top quality addition for the Gunners

Bradley Barcola has been second fiddle at Paris Saint-Germain for the last couple of seasons but his versatility enables him to play effectively on both wings and as a striker, therefore making him one of Luis Enrique’s most preferred substitutes.

In spite of coming off the bench more often than not, especially in the Champions League fixtures, Barcola was impactful and had a big role to play in PSG’s successive European Cup wins with 13 goals and seven assists in all competitions last season.

He is confident with the ball at his feet, excels in taking on a number of defenders and makes intelligent runs in behind or inwards into the box from the wings, which make him a lethal goal threat up top and a player who can dynamically adapt to tactics.

While a £145 million price tag might see far too high to start with, PSG could be willing to negotiate their demands as they close in on Ferran Torres’ signing from Barcelona. It will be interesting to see how much Arsenal are prepared to pay for Barcola’s services, but personal terms might not be an issue.
