Man Utd & Arsenal eye move to sign Shakhtar’s Kaua Elias

Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk forward Kaua Elias, as per TEAMtalk.

Following Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s serious knee issue, the Red Devils were left with Kobbie Mainoo as the only available midfield option.

As a result, United have prioritised revamping the engine room this summer and have already purchased Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans from Chelsea and Aston Villa, respectively.

Moreover, the 20-time English champions are closing in on a deal to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Man Utd are also interested in signing a new left-back to support Luke Shaw, with the Englishman’s existing deal set to run until next summer.

Meanwhile, having failed to find his feet in the Premier League since joining from Bologna, Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with a move back to Italy. So, it appears Man Utd are exploring the possibility of signing a new striker late in this window.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Man Utd are considering signing Elias, having recently monitored his development closely. They sent scouts to watch the youngster in action against Kudrivka earlier this month, where he helped his side win the game 5-1 by scoring a perfect hat-trick.

Battle

With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029, Shakhtar Donetsk aren’t in any rush to sell him and usually play hardball to let their big assets leave. They want around £30m for the Brazilian.

However, the report state that Arsenal are also interested in him and sent scouts to watch him closely vs Kudrivka. Moreover, FC Porto, AC Milan and other European teams have also been keeping a close eye on him. But the English clubs have the financial muscle to finalise the operation.

Despite winning the Premier League title last term, Arsenal are said to be keen on reinforcing the frontline this summer and have already purchased Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.

Elias is a talented player and possesses high potential. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal or Man Utd should either club purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club or the Old Trafford club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.
