Tottenham reach agreement to sign Man City’s Savinho

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City over a deal to sign Savinho, as per transfer expert David Ornstein.

The 22-year-old came into the spotlight having displayed impressive performances for Girona during the 2023/24 campaign. In 41 appearances across all competitions, he made 21 goal contributions and helped his side finish third in La Liga.

After being impressed by him, the Citizens decided to purchase him a couple of years ago. He has won a few domestic cup competitions in recent seasons.

During the 2024/25 season, he showed glimpses of his qualities at the Etihad Stadium, making 14 goal contributions in all tournaments. However, he struggled to break into Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up last term.

Tottenham hold a long-standing interest in the Brazilian as they initially wanted to purchase him last summer, but the Citizens refused to let him leave.

Despite his below-average performances last campaign, Spurs remained keen on him, and after a long negotiation over the last few weeks, on The Athletic, Ornstein reports that Tottenham have finally reached an agreement with Man City to sign Savinho, who was their ‘main target’.

The 22-year-old had a long-term contract until 2031; therefore, Man City were in a strong position to demand a big fee for him. Tottenham have agreed to pay around £75m in guaranteed fee plus £10m in bonuses, with £5m of those add-ons easily achievable. The journalist states that this is going to be Man City’s ‘record’ sale.

Savinho to Tottenham

Meanwhile, on X, Fabrizio Romano has backed Ornstein’s claim with his trademark ‘here we go’ post and added that Tottenham have continued talks with Man City to sign Omar Marmoush.

Sky Sports, on the other hand, report that Savinho is set to undergo a medical ahead of completing his move to the North London club.

Savinho is a technically gifted left-footed versatile forward. He is quick, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, is efficient in delivering excellent crosses from the flanks, and works hard without possession.

The South American is a Premier League-proven player and hasn’t reached his prime yet. Therefore, he should be a shrewd acquisition for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
