Tottenham agree personal terms with Omar Marmoush

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, as per transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Spurs currently have Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as options to deploy in the centre-forward positions. However, the Englishman has found it difficult to showcase his best since joining from AFC Bournemouth.
He even struggled with injury problems last term. On the other hand, although the Brazilian was the Lilywhites’ top scorer last term, he has entered the final 12 months of his current contract.
So, it appears Roberto De Zerbi is keen on upgrading Tottenham’s striker position. Earlier, David Ornstein reported that Tottenham are in advanced talks with Man City over a deal to sign Marmoush.
Now, on X, Plettenberg states that Spurs have already agreed on personal terms with the Egyptian and have been negotiating with the Citizens to complete the deal, with an agreement likely to come soon.
Plettenberg wrote:
“Omar Marmoush and Tottenham have reached a full verbal agreement. Club-to-club negotiations with Manchester City are advanced and set to be completed soon, if nothing extraordinary happens.”
Having moved to the Etihad Stadium last year, Marmoush, valued at around £43m by Transfermarkt, still has a contract until 2029. Therefore, Man City are in a strong position to demand a big fee to sell him.
Marmoush to Tottenham
Marmoush is a centre-forward by trait but is also comfortable in the second striker position. He is quick, strong, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, and is efficient at taking set-pieces.
Moreover, he can finish off his chances and works hard without possession. The 27-year-old is a top-class player and is currently at the prime stage of his career.
Marmoush came into the spotlight having displayed impressive performances for Eintracht Frankfurt. During the 2023/24 campaign, he made 23 goal contributions across all competitions.
He took his game to another level during the first half of the 2024/25 season, scoring 20 goals and registering 13 assists in 26 appearances in all tournaments.
However, he has struggled to find his feet in the Premier League thus far. Still, he could be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they eventually manage to secure his services before the end of this summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, apart from Marmoush, Tottenham have agreed to sign Savinho from Man City to upgrade the frontline.
