Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed on a deal in principle with Manchester City to sign Omar Marmoush, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Having endured a dire campaign last term, the Lilywhites have prioritised revamping the squad this summer to help Roberto De Zerbi achieve success this season.
After bolstering the defence and midfield early this summer, Spurs have been working hard late in this window to upgrade the frontline. Recently, they agreed to sign Savinho from the Citizens.
Now, on X, Romano states that Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement with the Citizens to sign Marmoush on loan with a conditional obligation to make the move permanent for a fee of around £50m.
The 27-year-old agreed personal terms with the Lilywhites a few days ago and is now set to undergo a medical today before the deal becomes finalised.
Romano wrote:
“Tottenham reach verbal agreement with Man City to sign Omar Marmoush, here we go! Verbal agreement done on initial loan with buy clause to become mandatory under certain conditions at £50m. Marmoush said yes to Tottenham days ago, travel and medical on Monday.”
Marmoush is a versatile forward as he is a striker by trait but can provide cover as a second striker if needed. Moreover, he is comfortable on the left flank.

He is quick, strong, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, and is efficient in finishing off his chances. Moreover, he is excellent at taking set-pieces and works hard without possession.
Tottenham currently have Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as CF options. However, the Brazilian has entered the final year of his current contract and displayed a below-average performance against Brentford in the opening Premier League fixture last weekend.
The Egyptian came into the spotlight having displayed impressive performances for German side Eintracht Frankfurt. However, he struggled to flourish in his career at the Etihad Stadium under Pep Guardiola.
Nevertheless, he is a highly talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for the North London club.
Meanwhile, following a disappointing 3-0 defeat to the Bees, Tottenham are set to face Charlton Athletic in midweek before taking on Newcastle United in the second Premier League fixture next weekend.
