Liverpool & Chelsea keen on signing Bournemouth’s Alex Scott

Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing AFC Bournemouth star Alex Scott, as per the Independent.
Following Curtis Jones’ move to Inter Milan, the Reds have been left with Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai as deeper midfield options.
Trey Nyoni is also capable of providing cover in the deeper midfield position, but he is still very young and doesn’t have much experience of senior football yet.
Endo, on the other hand, has struggled to find regular game time in recent years, while Szoboszlai is a CAM by trait, although he is comfortable in the No.8 role.
Now, the Independent report that Liverpool are interested in signing a new defensive midfielder and have identified Scott as the priority target. However, Chelsea are also keen on him and are planning to launch a big proposal to purchase him late in this window.
But Bournemouth have no intention of letting him leave this summer, with his existing deal set to run until 2028. The report state that the Cherries might only change their stance should they receive an offer of around £90m.
Following Andrey Santos’ move to Manchester United, Chelsea have signed Jordan Henderson. So, the Blues currently have the Englishman plus Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernández, Romeo Lavia, and Dario Essugo as deeper midfield options.

However, Fernández has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City. As a result, it appears the West London club want to buy a new midfielder this summer.
Scott is a technically gifted box-to-box midfielder by trait but can provide cover in the defensive midfield position if needed. Furthermore, he can be deployed in the CAM role.
He is quick, strong, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is efficient at playing threading passes between the lines. Moreover, Scott has an eye for scoring goals from distance and is efficient in defensive contributions.
The 23-year-old is a talented player and possesses high potential. Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Liverpool or Chelsea should either club purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Merseyside club or the West London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.
