Liverpool are reportedly battling with Arsenal and Manchester United over a deal to sign AFC Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, as per Caught Offside.
Having endured a dire campaign last term, the Reds decided to part ways with Arne Slot. Andoni Iraola has been appointed as the new manager this summer following his impressive performances for the Cherries.
However, Liverpool have started the new campaign slowly, drawing the first two Premier League fixtures against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.
Amid this situation, the club’s hierarchy have been working hard to bolster the squad, with the transfer window set to slam shut in less than 48 hours.
They have already signed Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Muñoz this summer. Moreover, Bradley Barcola has joined from Paris Saint-Germain.
Now, with Hugo Ekitike set to remain sidelined for an extended period due to a serious injury, Caught Offside claim that Liverpool want a new striker and have been monitoring Kroupi’s long-term future.
The Reds have made contact to learn about his availability. However, Iraola’s side will have to overcome stiff competition to seal the deal as Man Utd and Arsenal are also in this race.

Like Liverpool, United have also been keeping a close eye on his situation and have enquired about the details of signing him. On the other hand, Arsenal consider him a long-term target to bolster the frontline.
However, the report state that Kroupi is set to remain sidelined for several months due to an injury. As a result, United, Liverpool and Arsenal aren’t planning to buy him before tomorrow’s deadline.
The Premier League clubs are even cautious about spending big fees while he remains sidelined. With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2030, Bournemouth aren’t in any rush to sell Kroupi, valued at around £60m by Transfermarkt.
With Joshua Zirkzee linked with a move away, United are seemingly planning to sign a new striker to support Benjamin Sesko. On the other hand, with Gabriel Jesus closing in on a deal to join Barcelona, it appears Arsenal want a new striker.
Kroupi is a Premier League-proven player and could be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal should any of those clubs purchase him.
